Brain Fully Developed – At What Age Does This Happen?
Your brain learns new things every day. The development of the brain starts in the womb. Brain consists of many nerves that interact with one another when you have to complete a task. According to a recent study it is learnt the human brain is fully developed by the age 25. The maturation process of the brain takes place at a slow rate from the age of 10 to 25 years. This is the reason why teenagers are mostly rash and immature as regards to their behavior. Mature developmental features start developing after the age of 18 when you enter in to young adulthood.
It is also important to note the different parts of the brain develop in different sequences. The human brain is divided into two parts. These parts are connected to one another through corpus callosum. When a baby is born its brain is not fully developed. The brain development takes place at a very slow pace even after the first year of birth. The two parts of the brain have their own well defined set of functions. The left part of the brain is equipped to deal with logical and rational reasoning. The right part of the brain is more inclined to deal with creative aspects.
Effective communication between two parts of the brain will only take place if the corpus calossum is fully developed. Till the time the brain is developed, toddlers have to rely on sign language to communicate their feelings. Your brain grows at an amazing rate from the time of your birth. The cells are constantly renewed with new cells taking the place of old ones. Even though scientists have claimed that the human brain is fully developed by the age of 25 there is no concrete scientific evidence to prove that the brain does not grow beyond that.
The brain reaches its maximum adult weight by the age of 21. But the development still takes place in spite of the brain reaching its maximum weight. Your learning process is not limited to a specific age. This is because the neural connection of the brain forms and changes on everyday basis. This is the reason why you can remain mentally alert at any age.
Human brain development is divided into five major stages. Changes take place during each stage of development and these changes help you to deal with the next stage better. The human brain grows rapidly in the first few years of life and after the age of 25 the pace at which it grows slows down considerably.
Of all the parts in the human body, the brain takes the longest time to reach full potential. This is because many neural connections are taking place in the brain all the time. If you want to stimulate your brain in the later years then you have to engage in mental exercises. It is also proven that stimulating your brain will also facilitate the growth of new stem cells. You have to provide nutrition to your brain if you want to use it to its maximum capacity.
