the barlow’s have a reputation - not a good one, that’s for sure. but that never bothered the second eldest - his father’s attempt at bringing up his children under the guise of strict morals and values has missed the mark. at least for frank. he spends most of his time mixing with the wrong crowd doing the wrong things - drugs, sex and alcohol. and the more his father bears down upon him, the more frankie resists falling into line. his father’s recent corruption charges all but confirm frank’s future as the wayward son.

from the very moment they met, it’s always been the case that they understood each other in a way that no one else could. they bond over asshole parents and their enjoyment of a rampant night life. they love passionately and bicker just as vehemently, both hot blooded and argumentative. but together, they are quite the pair. forgoing his family’s less than optimal reputation, frank begins to forge one of his own. 

they open a boutique bar - one that invites the company of the town’s finest, serving extravagant cocktails and aged liquor. and though it starts off with a bang, things soon start going south (perhaps it is the barlow’s family curse of being unable to attain financial success). and soon, the pair have to think of different methods of keeping afloat. they begin to deal through the bar, using their establishment as a front and a convincing one at that. they’re ruthless when it comes to their side hustle, both of them running business with an iron fist and a loaded shotgun.

alistair park-barre (27, lawyer, charles melton)

one of the many park-barre’s running around salem, alistair was once ‘most likely to succeed’. of course, that plan involved moving out of his home town and seeing the world, finding the girl of his dreams and becoming partner before he hits the big three-oh. but that’s not what life has had in store for him and he’s been stuck in salem ever since he graduated from high school. he’s intelligent, well-spoken, thoughtful and rational but tends to be a bit moody from time to time. alistair’s worried that he’s running out of time to achieve his goals and he’s aching to find that one opportunity to kick start it all. he’s the type of person to meal prep without fail every week, to go to the gym at 4.30am every morning and doesn’t have hair out of place at work. not necessarily easy going but also not opposed to dealing with whatever curveball is thrown at him.  needs - the group of friends he grew up with, now reunited thanks to an upcoming wedding, the rest of his huge family, co-workers, ex-girlfriends (probably relatively serious ones and mb one that was more recent), maybe ex-house mates that he’s still really tight with and they catch up for a beer or two on the weekends

harrison crawford (24, bartender/dealer, matt noszka)

if you’ve been in beaufort long enough, chances are, you’ve seen bill powell’s face on a billboard or on tv around town. he’s a local council man and has been for many years, a retired judge who thought he could offer more to the community as a politician. he and his wife yvonne, a hobby interior designer, live in a hamptons-inspired home affectionally named the powell estate. it’s set on two acreage of land, complete with stables and distillery - bill’s very own passion and love. while yvonne has roots in denver, bill is beaufort born and bred which also happens to be his tagline for his political campaigns. bill and yvonne ensured that their three children had everything they could possibly need to succeed  to the public, they are perfect - not a single hair out of place in any of their photos or outings. they expected their children to excel academically, in co-curricular activities and in social settings. and while to the outside world they maintained their picture perfect image, the siblings were able to be themselves around one another. they’re close, supportive and proud of each other’s achievements. and though it’s never easy living up to their parent’s expectations, it’s much better that they tackle it as a trio than alone.

                 wesley powell, twenty-six, med resident

the second child of a politician and a trophy wife / grew up in a strict household looking to maintain a picture perfect image / incredibly ambitious and highly strung / incredibly competitive and unafraid of stepping on toes to get what he wants / lived without having to worry about finances but likes to pretend he had a ‘tough upbringing’ / absolutely loves his mom / often very much torn between his heart and his head (his head often winning out in the end) / would like to go overseas and help third world countries once he’s a full fledged doctor / but would also like to audition to be the next bachelor / confident and outgoing / definitely an extrovert and thrives off human connections / extremely into keeping himself fit and spends many hours in the gym / will do a half marathon on a whim just because he can / definitely a show-off / the type of guy you should take to your parents to shut them up / probably loves himself more than anyone / very concerned about how others perceive him.

callum mckinney (twenty-nine, physio, m. daddario)

( about ) grew up the second eldest of four in a family that embraced organised chaos / his family home was always rampant with neighbours or his sibling’s friends / straight shooter, the type to say exactly how he feels without mincing his words / tends to take things a little too seriously / easily made grumpy or agitated / dry sense of humour / studious and did well in school / stubborn at the best of times / mediator and a voice of reason / a sore loser and his harshest critic / reliable and steadfast, an anchor for his siblings and friends / generous and forgiving like his parents / dated the same girl since high school / a powerhouse couple that aspired to conquer the world together / they both left town after graduating from high school to pursue their careers / proposed and got engaged to the girl of his dreams three years ago / things quickly fell apart when she got her dream job overseas and they began to argue over whether she should take up the opportunity or not / broke off their engagement and things got messy / returned home three years ago to start his own clinic and help the athletes training on the slopes

group of late 20s friends that get together once a week for game night, probably know each other from high school or through one another
