Cheers! To Saturday morning--another full day ahead of me. This week has been tough. My body aches, still getting used to the mask, oh so exhausted, still need to add more breaks so I can eat during the day, missing Declan since I'm getting home after bedtime now. BUT I'm grateful to be back making people feel good after months of feeling out of sorts. On the eve of my re-opening, I am sitting in reflection of the past 3 MONTHS. So many emotions going on! - I am a little sad since I have been blessed to spend so much quality time with my son Declan. He just turned 3 and is already more excited to "play" (ride bikes) with the kids on our street than hang out with Mama. I know that will only accelerate as he gets older and I will fall to the bottom when he hits those teenage years. So I will be thankful for this time. #silverlining - But I am also so excited to be out in the world. Seeing my amazing clients, getting that human connection. I get to make people feel good about themselves and help establish a sense of normalcy for them again. - I mostly feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. To my amazing husband @xcry0x who has continued to work through this pandemic and support our family, to my neighbors @jande_designs @squamber @jmulvanny (and others) for their willingness to connect in ways we could when I was feeling isolated, to my clients for their generous support, to @unite_hair for supporting us with their Membership Program, for the health of my family, and lastly to every single person who had to continue to work (exposing themselves & their family) to provide the rest of us what we needed to get by. Just finished watching this extensive livestream and wow, big thanks to @unite_hair & @dale_unite @daviddrewimpact for lots of valuable information for salon owners and salon professionals for when we get back in the salon. Thank you for always having our backs and supporting our passion of hairdressing. I've spent hours reading all the requirements the other States have issued for a safe return to the salon. As well as devouring any information from our industry leaders across the globe. California State Board of Barbering & Cosmetology has not issued any guidance yet. I'm being proactive and am busy trying to procure the necessary items I think we will need to keep you all safe while coming to get your hair done. Please, be flexible & patient with me as things will be different when we return. But different doesn't always mean worse! My studio setup already leads itself to a safer environment since I am in a studio alone. Paired with many additional sanitation and disinfection procedures it will be one of the safest places to get your beauty on! No word on when that will be. I'm planning to be as prepared as possible to hit the ground running!! I miss you all! Ok, today's quarantine project during Declan's naptime was "opening up" our backyard. Trimmed some bushes, cleaned the patio, weeded, uncovered and cleaned the patio furniture. Still need to hang up the outdoor curtains but I'm not 100% certain the rain has gone for good. At these uncertain times, we must all follow the direction of the health officers and shelter in place. I cannot wait to get back to making you all feel beautiful. I really miss you all. Due to the shelter in place extension. I must remain closed until at least May 3rd. Fingers crossed that will be the end of this.
