What’s so funny is that it’s so obviously queer subtextually but straight people won’t pick up on it so straight right wing men have it as their favourite film because of how hyper masculine it is and because they love to cling to the narrator to relate to him.

Notice how people are responding to this compared to how they respond when a parent spanks their child.

They clearly know damn well that an adult slapping a child is a monstrous act. They clearly know damn well that a child offending an adult is not a justification for the adult inflicting violence on the child.

They want the law to come down as hard as possible on her. But if she hit her own child for talking back to her, these same people condemning her would be cheering her on.

And people who supported them are going to say that they had no idea that ICE could be that bad.
