Behind the photo: "I was so fortunate to spend a couple of hours with Anthony Bourdain... the assignment was to meet him at Les Halles, do a quick shot in the kitchen there, then jump in a cab to a dive bar on 9th Ave that he liked, then on to Katz's deli on the Lower East Side, then finish up at the Papaya King (sadly now closed) on 86th and Lexington.

It was raining, but that didn't deter us. Bourdain ate a hot dog, then another... then a cigarette (I think), then another hot dog.

I love NYC street shoots as passersby kind of ignore everything but can't help having a look. Like this lady.

He was a complete gent... bought us hot dogs and also sandwiches at Katz's."
