i gotta say, one of the things that really draws me to buckynat is how much they understand each other and care for each other. nobody but natasha and bucky will ever understand the red room, what they endured together during their respective times being under conditioning / brainwashing by HYDRA. it’s something unique to them and something they’ve helped each other through. they are each other’s rock, especially bucky toward natasha. natasha is literally his everything and bucky does not hesitate to protect her. we’ve seen bucky break natasha’s conditioning and vice versa (i think) and it’s just something i hold really dear. that care even extends to bucky not messing with natasha’s mind more after her memory was wiped...even if it meant restoring her memories of him. they are one of the healthiest couples i’ve ever seen in marvel and their relationship with each other means a lot to me.
