my palms start to sting and burn.

i glance down to them, they sparkle, sweat.

i burn, my palms turn red with white and pink dots.

my palms burn, i run them under cold water.

they start to itch and swell.

a scene from my childhood. part one, sick and tired.

i lay sick on a mattress my dad moved to the lounge room for me, only because my mum told him too.

my parents argue over something i can’t remember.

my leg is peaking out from the blankets, my dad stops yelling to move the blanket to cover me.

i’m happy, i stick my leg out again thinking i’d get that care once more, i don’t.
