BL in the Morning

Beside the Sky: What a way to come back to this series! The first few episodes are so devastating but the wholesome stuff later on definitely makes up for it. Tonliew stands out as Typhoon gets put through the emotional wringer, he's a phenomenal actor. Their chemistry is so good and the "secret" penpal plot provides lots of humor. My favorite thing about this arc might be the friendships. Absolutely love the art club gang rallying around Typhoon and helping him win over Tonfah. I also love how much we get to see from the doctor gang as well. This arc definitely completed the picture of each of their personalities. My second favorite of the five arcs.

The Sun from Another Star: Here it is, my favorite arc! Seriously I love ArthitDaotok so much. I love when the big tough DGAFer falls first and becomes hopelessly smitten. Also Dao being so naturally nonchalant but that also being a wall he's built to protect himself. The dynamic of annoyances to reluctant friends of necessity to lovers is so good and so fucking funny. NgernOat's chemistry is electric . And I don't just mean romantically/sexually, but also comedic, emotional, and dramatic. The ghosts were fun too! I really enjoyed how much Dao (and Arthit) were not phased by them, just a little annoyed. This arc also has the best NC scene from either Part 1 or Part 2.

Lately, It's Winter Season: From the highs to the lows. This arc is my least favorite of all 5. It isn't bad (in fact, it's probably technically better than Part 1) however, I really don't like plain old friends to lovers. It gets frustrating, and worse, boring, pretty fast. Plus, I already didn't care about Tiger and Nao during North's arc (I thought they were just there to fill the runtime). Pie & Golf are good, but unfortunately I think both BeverTonliew and NgernOat act circles around them in their respective arcs. I did enjoy the stuff with Tiger's brother and the mafia aspect, but there wasn't enough of it to make this arc that interesting to me.

I’m loving it, frankly. And if all of the coterie were bending to the will of the Camarilla like Madeleine that would be really fucking boring. I just don’t find it entertaining to watch bad people get away with bad things. (Like do you people really want to see a data center get built in Purpee??) Idk maybe I’m too much on the side of ‘do things your way or die trying’ but a group of PCs solely following the will of NPCs is not compelling.

Like it’s one thing if you don’t know that the man you’re hooking up with is already spoken for. Clearly, that fucking sucks. However, if you knowingly enter a relationship with someone who already has a serious partner, that makes you a terrible fucking person. And episode 2 showed us that Veha knows about Lion and Kanit.

Obviously the cheater (Lion) is the worst person in this equation, but in the case of this show I don’t think we’re supposed to care about him. Whereas MondRyu are the secondary couple so we should be rooting for them both to some extent.
