1. Boom was never shown nor hinted at having a partner in Akina.

2. Toey does have a partner in it - Phoom. It was casted and announced. <- photoshoot they did

Also: Toey’s contract with Headliner ended in Nov 2025, but he’s still contracted with Tailai (it’s in his bio on IG)

3. There’s a youth storyline with the actors Anton & Little.

4. We only had a concept trailer for Akina- no synopsis either. We don’t know what this show was truly about except that it was Top Form adjacent and involved Boom & Toey.

5. They were working on the Akina series in January and February 2026 – it could have been for a proper pilot or official trailer but the account hadn’t been updated since.

6. Top Form was an exclusive talent contract as a 5 year deal for Boom, Smart, Euro, & Peanut. They had a whole 3 season+ plan for this that was uprooted with GIR/Smart suddenly breaching contract in May 2025.

7. With WeTV getting into legal battle with GIR/Smart for breach of contract, it might seem fitting to keep Boom without work because of the confidentiality of the court proceedings. He can’t answer fan questions if he’s not holding fan meetings & calls. And he can’t act if he’s at a court date if they need him to testify.

8. Money - WeTV most likely has sponsors and deadlines to meet and can’t delay it further - lots of behind the scene things we don’t get to see. But obviously long delays kills their money making machines and unfortunately for us viewers they found a way to make the story without Boom. It’s very well possible they already casted the new actor.

Boom has recently shared that he’s been going through mental health struggles with a photo at a hospital (March 20). This step down announcement Headliner made is most likely a good break he needed to get help. especially because the internet has been very vocal about his pairing split and that does things to your mental state after almost a whole year.
