May I suggest something? Get Stargazer Lilies for your home. This was my go to flower in my twenties when I started the tradition of getting flowers for my home. The fragrance is unmatched and they bloom throughout the week-sometimes longer. If they start to look a bit sad I just change the water. I started getting them again recently. I was concerned that the scent would trigger some unwanted memories-I’m a bit tender these days. They are a delight!
Sometimes I forget they’re all over my apartment and I wonder what smells so good. It seems illegal to possess something this beautiful. They feel alive in a way that other flowers don’t.
Photos from my first real spring walk. I don’t understand why it’s 2024.
I just went through the worst depression I’ve had since I lost my family and found them again.
This walk was truly part of my rebirth.

Love these antiqued metallic planters at Anthropologie.

PLANT DIARY 6.8.16
I’m so glad I got to see these poppies blooming in my neighborhood community garden. Sadly, they don’t last long but they’re definitely worth it.
These are some photos from my first freelance project after my horticulture program. This garden is extremely rocky and has a ton of Japanese Knotweed on a traditional Pittsburgh slope. I’m trying to create a visual partition between the Knotweed jungle and the garden below. The Smokebush and Red-Stemmed Dogwood shrubs should be a nice contrast against the foliage on the slope.
Asarum Canadense (Wild Ginger)
This is one of my new favorite native plants, It’s a great alternative to ivy and other non-native ground covers that can become invasive. I got to know this plant very well during my externship, it was one of may favorites in shade garden I took care of. This ginger is ideal in woodland or shady gardens. It's pictured here living among ferns, hostas, and Lily of the Valley. The flower is exotic and fun to look for, reminds me of an orchid, Also, the leaves are lightly pubescent(fuzzy) and adorable.
I’m done with the Horticulture Program at Bidwell. During the 8 months of this accelerated  program I experienced some huge losses. Thankful to God, my new family, and friends for holding me down. This is a picture of my new morning ritual.
My little balcony garden and coffee.
