Hartley and Axel dedicated years of their life to tracking down the myths and legends that haunted the dark corners of the country. They fell in love with the lore, the shadows, the grey area between truth and falsehood they had come to call home.

Unfortunately, Hartley fell a bit too in love with their work, and as Axel tried to coax him out of the dark he instead dived right back in, making a deal with a Pied Piper. Unable to deal with what his lover had done, Axel left, disappearing so deeply into the shadows that even all of Hartley’s tricks and spells couldn’t manage to find him.

I was fourteen when my dad kicked me out. […] It sucked, obviously, but what really hurt is that my mom let him do it.
