Did PB hire translators for the German versions of their books or...?

And if they did hire translators, did they hire native speakers?

#bc not to be mean or anything but some of their titles and chapter descriptions sound like google translate #i'm kinda scared to see actual in-game text #the question goes for french & spanish as well but ig you can get away with doing word for word translations or keep the sentence structure #when translating from english to french; at least more than when translating to german #anyways i mostly just have gripes with the titles bc just bc they're “technically” right doesn't mean you should translate word for word #the only good translation (imo) is Sehnsucht und Sittsamkeit and ig Blutsbande can get a pass even though it's boring #im gonna be salty abt this for a long time. nobody try to stop me #actually im also asking bc im curious #and also bc i believe that in literary translation translating with some distance from the source material and focus more on the meaning #and making the sentence feel natural in the target language should take precedence over #staying as close as possible to the source material and the choices books fall under literary translation. at least for me #(this is just my opinion tho; i'm aware translators have preferences and so do the companies hiring them although the company's opinion is #usually wrong #choices #pixelberry #playchoices
