"Da!" She chipped. She was hungry. And she wanted to eat.

“Is that so?” he asked, standing up with her. He knew she wanted something and the first and best guess was always food. “Are you hungry?”

She gave a quick sharp nod squeaking her agreement.

“Alright. Let’s get you some food then.” He yawned once before heading towards the kitchen where of course the food was kept.

"Da!" She chipped. She was hungry. And she wanted to eat.

“Is that so?” he asked, standing up with her. He knew she wanted something and the first and best guess was always food. “Are you hungry?”

He raised an eyebrow but then gave the little girl a friendly look. "Hello. Are you lost?"

He let out a huff of air but relaxed for now. He supposed if Susan trusted the dragon then it was alright. “How am I going to be able to help seal a rift?” he asked instead. 

A doubtful look crossed his face. "I hope you all know what you're doing because I don't know a thing about magic." Anything else he was going to say disappeared when the dragon took off. Despite himself his eyes quickly shut. This dragon ride was not going to be pleasant for him.

"You’ve seen me do this before. Have you forgotten it?" She asked him as she stood straiter.

"Just because I’ve seen it before doesn’t mean I’m quite used to it." He shook his head. 

"… Oh shit. Doesn’t this car belong to the other guy at work? You know. The one that’s even more cranky than you? The one that hates your guts."

"Well if it is his car," he looked the vehicle over. "Then I don't see how that's bad news."

He tensed visibly at the voice in his head but did his best not to say or think anything rude. “I don’t normally annoucne my last name to the world anyway,” he snorted. 

"It’s proper manners where we’re going. We’re meeting up with old friends of mine to seal up a dangerous rift in the time space continuum. And don’t be suspicious of the dragon. She just speaks telepathically. She doesn’t go digging around in anyone’s head."

He let out a huff of air but relaxed for now. He supposed if Susan trusted the dragon then it was alright. "How am I going to be able to help seal a rift?" he asked instead.

"And I say you need help." There was a stubborn look on his face as he went to give her support. 

"Not… Not this time." She groaned. She wouldn’t be taken out of the fight this time because of some silly wound. Time to cause a car battery to be drained. She reached for the nearest car.

"What are you going to do?" he demanded. She was not going to keep fighting while she was hurt if he had anything to say about it.
