Running weasel mount finished! Sculpted head and wrapped body, as usual. Making him balance on one leg was a fun little challenge :] I still have to do some tweaking before I decide if he'll be for sale or if he stays in my mustelid collection. I can't wait to do more weasels!

This poor guy met his demise via a fence. Those unique tines got caught in some chain link and he got stuck. We were called out to remove him. What a cool guy!!

A brindle coyote I purchased frozen whole from a trapper in KY, to tan and make into a personal headdress. I also had an Embark DNA test ran on her via a tissue sample, and just got the results back. For those curious about DNA of off-color coyotes. She is 95%+ coyote, but also was affected by vWD and carries for SPAID. Her COI was 9%. Here are some photos before I finished skinning and tanning, to show her markings and colors.

Finally had the guts to start the mink and I must say I'm pretty happy with the results! I found out one of her eyes is actually smaller than the other, I never noticed it until I did a test fit. Once again I made the body with woodwool/excelsior and the head was made from a skull cast. I didn't like any of the available foam mannequins and none of them fit anyway and I quite like making everything myself :-)

She's almost done drying now, the next step is doing the finishing work and putting her on a base!

damn kinda wish id looked up how to preserve wet specimens when i found that white-toothed shrew. i think it wouldve been neat, even tho im not normally big on wet specimens

#sammy speaks #dont get white toothed shrews in my county so my chances of finding another fresh 1 are slim :(#maybe if i find another pygmy shrew i could try. or if i ever find a mouse

a beautiful fisher i tanned for my collection 🐾 i love that white spot on her tail! it’s from an old injury, when i part the fur in that spot i can see the little scar.
