Phillip skips up to his father, an excited, curious look in his eyes. Alexander smile down at the young boy, quite eager to hear his question, he loves teaching his son new things. "Dad when will i find my soulmate ?"

Alexander falters for just a moment, gaining a far away look in his eyes. "Well when the time is- wait, where did you learn about soul mates ?" He had never discussed them with his son before, he couldn't after what had happened.

Phillip excitement only grew, a childish smile breaking out onto his freckle face.

Alexander used to see that smile all the time from someone else, but that was a long time ago. "Jackie told me about them ! He tells me about a lot of stuff i don't know !"

Alexander's breathing falters for a moment, his heart constricting in a painful way. "Jackie ?" He repeats back questioningly, his voice pained.

Phillip nods enthusiastically. "Well he likes to be called Laurens but he lets me call him Jackie because i'm special."

Alexander stammers. "Wh- Ho-" He clears throat, trying to regain his composure, even though his mind and heart were racing. "How often do you talk to him?"

Phillip lets out a soft laugh, responding happily. "All the time !"

Alexander turns away breaking into painful sobs, his son frantic voice falls deaf unto his ears. It was all coming back to him, the heartbreak, the painful mourning, the loneliness, the loss, everything that he had buried down was resurfacing all too fast for him to handle.

BONUS ~

Alexander approaches his son who was sitting on the floor playing with the toys his mother had made him. "Where's Jackie today?" He says, the name leaving a bittersweet taste on his tong.

Phillip points to the open air. "Right there", He mumbles, thinking for a moment before saying. "He looks at you alot".

Alexander smiles ever so slightly, staring where his son was pointing, managing to look John right in his eyes. He couldn't see John, but he could feel him there, returning his gaze. Alexander's heart constricted yet again, so desperate to feel the touch of Laurens soft caresses, to hear the hypnotic sound of his words. He'd give anything for one more moment.

John smile softly, reaching up to caress Alexander's cheek, only to falters as his hand fazes through Alex's body. He sends him a pain filled smile, one that was blind to Alexander's eyes. "Dont cry Alex."

Phillip turns up to his father, "He doesn't like when you cry Daddy".

Alexander sighs sadly, a bittersweet smile on his face, as if he was actually able to feel Laurens's hand.
