((Kept you waiting, huh?
((So, before everyone who sees this post starts celebrating my return after who-know-how-many-days of hiatus, let me just stop you right there. I’m not...exactly back. See, I’ve tried to get back to posting here several times during that span. I got on my dashboard, went through and looked at my drafts, the whole lot. And I couldn’t do it. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t post.
((So I started thinking about what was preventing me from posting, and I finally realized what it was. I just don’t enjoy writing Thomas like I used to. Don’t get me wrong, I love this cannibalistic jackass. He’s one of the best characters I’ve ever written, I think. But these days, it’s hard to write him.
((So, I’m giving Thomas Steele a much needed and much deserved rest. I’m not archiving this blog. I’m not giving up Thomas. But I am putting him into a state of semi-retirement. I may dust him off again when the time is right again. But for now, I’m trying something new. I’ve written the same character for, by this point, five years on various sites. He deserves a rest.
((So what does that mean for me and for you, my friends? I just got done putting the finishing touches on a new blog. A new character. A new canon, not related in any fashion to Thomas or to BLACKCAT or anything else. He’s been bouncing around in my head these last few months, and I feel like he deserves a shot. So, at the end of this post, I’m going to link you to that blog. I’ll hope you’ll join me there, friends.
((I’d like to thank all of you for being here with me over the years, for putting with with me and this asshole Wendigo. And I’d like to reemphasize that this blog isn’t going anywhere. I’ll still come back to it from time to time, and hopefully one day in the future, one day soon, I’ll be able to give this magnificent asshole the screentime he deserves again. But for now?
