What is your Griffin like and what is his relationship with the others like (Mavis, Drac pack, potentially Ericka/Vlad/Lydia/Martha etc.)?
Hi, thanks for waiting! I've been wanting to talk about how I see Griffin 👓 in my version 😁
His personality doesn’t change much from the canon; I’d say that’s the basis for opening up more possibilities as to what he’s really like.
⚠️ To clarify your question in detail, this might be a rather long text post ⚠️
Meet Griffin 🗣️👓
A brilliant but utterly hopeless scientist — he discovered the formula for invisibility, but lost (or never finished) the cure, so he is both his own jailer and his own key.
Optimistic, gossipy, sarcastic and perpetually penniless, he scrapes by doing odd jobs for Count Dracula, his friend (and unofficial boss), in exchange for money, a roof over his head and protection — including looking after the count’s young daughter.
He wears glasses that reflect his gestures and emotions (his only visible ‘face’), and dresses in a trench coat, braces and second-hand clothes in the style of a down-and-out office worker.
He loves playing pranks at the worst possible moments, pretending to be a ghost to annoy people, and although he complains about everything, he always ends up getting roped into the plan.
With Mavis 🦇🩷
Although you might not think so, he’s really good with children; he knows how to look after them, play with them and even get information out of them (as they say, children are very observant)
He gets along very well with little Dracula; when her parents are away, you can be sure he’ll be the babysitter (he’s the closest and most trustworthy person to leave a little girl in charge of), even though they’re often in on secret mischief together. And since Griffin is invisible, Mavis doesn’t act as mischievously with him as she does with other caregivers; as long as she’s within his radar of awareness, she doesn’t dare to defy something unknown that could get her in trouble with her parents
With the Drac pack⚰️👻
Come on, man, all of them together means not only fun, but they're almost certain to get into trouble.
Ever since they got to know each other, they've gotten along great—practically like brothers—a relationship built on pure trust, loyalty, and constant jokes that will last forever.
Many of the anecdotes they might tell you include petty crimes, practical jokes, chases, fights... And it was actually a vacation...
With Vlad and Lydia ⚔️🚩👿
He finds them somewhat intimidating, interesting, and also somewhat amusing that they haven't killed him yet, as someone once told him: The fact that no Drăculești has killed you is a sufficient sign of affection.
They consider Griffin fascinating but weak, useful but disposable, since he has no power like theirs that is of interest or threat to them (unless they are unaware of it).
With Martha and Ericka 🦇 💜 🌊🐚
He has an excellent relationship with Martha; she plays along with his jokes and quips in her own way because she finds his wit and sense of humor intriguing and amusing. And somehow, sometimes he ends up working for her, but she’s sweeter and more patient with him, (And also because she knows everything Dracula and his friends did and committed in their youth and other current things, and more about him, So it's her word against his)
With Ericka, it started with her wanting to study him; she didn't see him as a monster, just someone different. Besides having a great time filled with fun, stories, and witty remarks, there was also a lot to learn—after all, he is a scientist. Although deep down they distrusted each other because of their past and inclinations in investigations
