What were your thoughts behind the decision to make Lydia Bernie's daughter instead of Vlad's?

Besides being a personal touch, it also meant that there were more family members with diverse relationships.

I never got around to developing the plot properly, but I had planned for Vlad to adopt Lydia as his daughter after Bernie couldn't raise her (to protect her from the danger caused by him And because he didn't feel capable of being a father to her).

The point is that it was to touch on the subject of adoption between relatives, when someone else takes you into their care when your parents couldn't. I think I could touch an emotional nerve, having known about a case like that...

It's not that Bernie didn't love her, but sometimes parents make painful decisions for the right causes, even if it means distancing themselves from their children 💔

And what better way than to wish someone a happy Father's Day, even if he's not your biological father, but the person who raised you and never abandoned you 🫂
