You don’t know how you’re feeling

The news is far too much

A collection of words you don’t want to hear

It breaks something inside of you

All you can say

Is

I am drifting

I feel alone

Losing all feeling

My connection to the world

Is a thin string

Hold onto it for me

Please

I am in pain

But I am numb

I am lost

An echo

Sadness feels stronger 

when you remember what happiness feels like

I wish I could forget

My thoughts are scattered

I’m sorry for that

I’ll write it all down

I can’t explain

I do not know how

It hurts in my brain

But it is all numb now

Distractions only last so long

The moonlight is fleeting

Hold onto me

I wish I was dreaming

I miss our moments

The ones we had

I feel like a ghost

I cannot feel who I am

You hold onto my lifeline

You do not know it

I know so few people

I am close with far fewer

It is lonely

But I do not need a crowded room to feel loved

I just miss you

I’m in a muck

I don’t know what I’m saying anymore

The sky is dark

It’s nighttime again

I’ll stay quiet

And pretend to work

While my thoughts drift like dandelions

Something to look at

Something to see

A shine made its own

Even if it comes from something else

It is a safe place

Surrounded with stars

And an infinite sky

The moonlight shines on

Even when we do not see its gleam

It is steady, it is there

The moon will stay awake

Even when we sleep

So that you can sleep in peace

With restfulness and good dreams

So don’t forget to thank the moon

For keeping it’s light on us
