The belt was because every kid goes through a phase where they think more equipment automatically makes them more competent.

Adults, unfortunately, don't always grow out of that either.

The lollipop wasn't that deep.

I just liked them.

It also didn't hurt that every action hero I thought was cool had something hanging out of their mouth.

A lollipop was the closest substitute my parents were willing to tolerate.

In hindsight... they probably preferred that version of the habit.

They are precision instruments designed for handling volatile compounds, not scalp therapy.

Though I suppose if the goal is a controlled application of sharp, calculated pressure, they're not entirely unsuited for the task.

I'll allow the compliment.
