Hey there, Cobras, Miyagi-Dos, Eagle Fangs, and everyone else that loves this fandom!

Our Award makers are working their magic for our upcoming ceremony, but while we wait we have a little surprise planned.

This fandom has grown exponentially since June 22, 1984. Whether you were one of the lucky ones to sit your caboose in a theater and watch as a young Italian boy moved across the country with his mom for the first time, or you finally gave up this year and decided to see what all the hubbub was about, you've found yourself in this crazy group that we call a Quiver.

Seeing as this looks like the last Awards season for the KKCKFFA (at least for the foreseeable future), we wanted to remember all the previous winners, going all the way back to the early days.

We will be posting a few stories everyday for the next 35 DAYS leading up to our final Ceremony!

So, grab your tissues and your popcorn and get ready to relive....

We have to lock down a number of our staff this year, so we can start allocating the duties & get this show on the road.

But we'll need a few more pollsters & promoters. Also looking for list-makers in a few weeks to get started on the new quarter's entries. Please familiarize yourself with the positions & duties, then take our survey.

Hey there, Eagles, Miyagi Dos, & Cobras! Award Season is upon us, but before we start rolling out all the fun stuff...we do need to address a few things. We know many of you have participated in the past years' award seasons, some from the very beginning. So, it may or might not have been a complete surprise to see how big last year's festivities got, as we've had to grow with the fandom boom since the move to Netflix. To be honest, we were only just able to pull it all off. We, the staff here at The KKCKFFA, love doing this and it's fun to give all our amazing writers out there the recognition they deserve, but when we're a more or less skeleton crew, it does take its toll. We've been having our meetings getting ready for this year, as we usually do, making and going over the new Eligibility List, seeing how categories fared the year before, whether new characters fared well enough to deserve their own category, seeing which ships need to move up or down in classifications, seeing to it that everyone has a fair shake at this. But when a fandom's creations grow to such numbers, and the staff more or less stays the same, the need to analyze new categories and such takes on a more critical and in-depth process. So, if you would like for these festivities to continue to grow and flourish, we're going to need your help. This is your chance to get in on the inside scoop and have a say in all the behind-the-scenes workings. We have meetings at least once every weekend during Award season to organize and if we need to make any kind of decision, it's put to a vote where every one's counted equally. Each new hand helps to lighten the load for everyone involved. We'll be posting new advertisements shortly with a new and updated survey. So, please drop us a line.

Here at the KKCKFF Awards everyone is busy tallying your votes and getting the awards ready. We hope you were able to vote for all your favorites, and while we prepare for the ceremony that will take place next month we'd love to add some people to our team of volunteers.

If you're interested in participating in the Awards (this year or the next), please fill in this survey and let us know what you'd like to do. There's space for a lot of skills: making lists, charting, creating polls, tallying, making moodboards... and of course having a bit of fun, that's the reason why the Awards were created!

COBRA KAI FANFICTION AWARDS - RECRUITING SURVEY

Hey there, all you Cobras, Eagles, Miyagi Dos and Miyagi Fangs!!!

So, you have narrowed down the entries on the ballot. It was hard, I know. So many wonderful possibilities. Will this stage be any easier? Some might say yes, some might say no. There’s so many great people out there writing great moments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

There will be TWO VOTING ROUNDS.

You can choose UP TO 5 STORIES PER CATEGORY.

There WILL BE links to each story in every poll, in case there are any stories that you didn’t have a chance to read. (We know the list this year, was graced with an embarrassment of riches. It was just too hard for any one person to keep up with all of them.)

You DON'T need an Ao3 account to participate. (But all the perks of having one, may make things easier in the long run.)

Every poll will be POSTED @ 6am Central Time

ALL POLLS CLOSE ON April 2nd @ 11pm Central Time

Any story is qualified if:

it's posted on Ao3 under the tags “Karate Kid (Movies)” or “Cobra Kai (Web Series)”

it's started, updated or finished during the period of Jan 1, 2021 - Dec 31, 2021

[For WIPs (or works in progress) only] must have a word count of 10k or more.

Starting today and over the next week, all 7 of our pollers will be posting, once a day. Now...instead of a separate link for every poll, like last year....each poller will be posting a link to a "ballot" holding polls for 8 categories.

You DO NOT HAVE TO vote in every poll. You CAN simply skip to the one(s) you want....OR, you can vote in every single poll. The choice is yours.

On the front page of the ballot, there will be a nice list of which categories' polls are on that particular ballot.

This year’s OVER 2,000 stories are eligible in 56…yes, FIFTY SIX categories this year.

You can nominate up to five stories in as few or as many categories as you wish.

There will be one nomination round and two voting rounds. The stories with the top nominations will proceed to the First Voting Round.

Sooooo, are you pumped for season 5 yet?!

The Quiver over at Discord is going to be gathering for our annual season rewatch...THIS MONTH! Every Sunday during the month of FEBRUARY, we will relive all the highs and lows of last season beginning FEBRUARY 13th @ 11am CST!

The KKCKFFAwards Staff is having our first official meeting of the season as a whole group. If you're thinking about joining, listen up!!!

ATM, we're still looking for Pollers, Award Makers and Promoters. The details on what each position is required to do and what time frames they will be needed, are all laid out in the following form.
