Hello, dear Cobras, Miyagi-Dos, Eagles, and everyone else!

We've counted and tallied all your votes, and we're really excited with the amount of people who gave love to their favorite authors and stories this year.

The Cobra Kai / Karate Kid Fanfiction Awards Ceremony will take place on SUNDAY JULY 9th, in our official Discord channel.

The ceremony will start at 10:45 CST.  If you can't make it to the ceremony, don't worry! After the party has ended, we will post a list of all the winners and runners up.

Spread the word and tell your friends, especially if they're nominated authors. This is going to be a great fanfiction celebration, so the more the merrier!

Are you new to Fandom, Fanfiction or just the KKCKFFA??? Are you looking around and thinking that we're all just typing gibberish? (Granted, sometimes we do do that, but when you're reading a really kudos-tastic fic and all you can do is squee at the top of your lungs, smashing the keyboard is totally warranted!)

Well, here we have the 3rd post (1st post found here and 2nd here) of all the terms that we use here on the KKCKFFA Staff, just in case you may need to look something up. So keep them in mind when you go and nominate your favorite stories.

Shipping - (For KKCKFFA purposes, these might change year to year. Ships may hop back and forth from classifications, as the fandom grows and a character's or ship's popularity ebbs and flows.)

Supercarrier -- Fandom flagship. The fandom is glutted with fic and artwork dedicated to this ship.

Example: Lawrusso

Cruiser -- Popular ship that everyone knows about. (This classification was chosen because there's 30+ authors writing for this ship this year.)

Examples: Miguel/Sam Hawk/Demetri Daniel/Amanda Daniel/Terry Johnny/Carmen Kreese/Terry Miguel/Robby Sam/Tory Robby/Tory

Frigate -- Popular ship, but could probably use more fanworks. (10-29 authors are writing this ship.)

Examples: Johnny/Ali Johnny/Bobby Daniel/Ali Miguel/Tory Robby/Sam Miguel/Hawk Hawk/Moon Demetri/Yasmine Daniel/Chozen

Tugboat -- Rarepair. Almost never seen except as a side pairing to a more popular ship. (9 or less authors are writing this ship.)

Drabble

-- A story that is exactly 100 words.

Drabble Collection

-- A collection of 100-word stories.

Ficlet

-- A self-contained story of 101 to 999 words.

Multichapter

-- A story consisting of multiple chapters, regardless of whether it is complete or ongoing.

Novella

-- A oneshot that exceeds 10,000 words.

Oneshot

-- A self-contained story between 1000 to 10,000 words.

Oneshot Collection

-- A collection of oneshots.

Series

-- a series of multichapter stories following the same story progression and characters

We have to lock down a number of our staff this year, so we can start allocating the duties & get this show on the road.

But we'll need a few more pollsters & promoters. Also looking for list-makers in a few weeks to get started on the new quarter's entries. Please familiarize yourself with the positions & duties, then take our survey.

Duties: You would be assigned sections, or a group of dates/time period, as well as the list of qualifications. Then you'd go through the year's entries on Ao3 in your given section(s) and search through and archive all the eligible stories using Google Sheets. The Eligibility List will be one of the main sources of info throughout the whole season.

Requirements: An email address to share/join the sheets document with the other list makers. (Both personal and fandom accts accepted, use whichever you are comfortable with.)

Help Given (We all help each other): There are occasional meetings that will be scheduled as time goes by, but there will always be tips and info channels for FAQs and monthly channels for random questions. As well as a Cheat Sheet Channel with the main info: Contacts, Qualifications, Ship Names and Classifications, etc.

Yes, you!  We are looking for volunteers to help make prizes for the awards this year in the form of pieces of art and moodboards.  So if you would like to get involved just fill in our survey:

Duties: Whether you make moodboards or original artwork...you would be assigned the winning stories, and then read through them to get inspiration.

Help Given (We all help each other): There will be a channel to chat with fellow makers for help if needed. Whether it's inspiration based, or which art program is the best and everything in between. We all help each other.
