I finished this startlingly fast. I wasn’t planning on posting this until tomorrow afternoon, but why not? Happy Bellarke Day!

The thing about being pre-med is that people think you know stuff. They think they can come up to you and tell you about the cough they’ve had that just won’t go away, or ask about the weird tingling sensation they get on the back of their knee and just expect you to be able to tell them exactly what’s wrong with them. And sure, you can probably tell them that the trapezius muscle is innervated by the spinal accessory nerve or that hemoglobin has a quaternary structure made up of four polypeptides that each interact with an iron atom that gives it the ability to carry oxygen through the bloodstream. But at the end of the day, you don’t know shit about medicine.

Which is why Clarke feels more than a little bit panicked when her friends start treating her like their personal doctor.

Do you love Bellarke? Of course you do. It’s great. 

Are you getting tired of waiting for it to become canon and to bask in the glory of kiss edits that are not the product of photoshop? Of course you are, you’re only human. 

May I point you in the direction of The Expanse?

‘What is The Expanse?’ you say. Oh, just a show that is vastly superior to the 100 in almost every way (I would say every way but since they haven’t hired Bob Morley yet, well you know….) 

Sci Fi. Logical world building. Plot that isn’t driven by characterization being slaughtered left right and center. Oh, and a little ship called Nolden. Aka the ship that Bellarke should’ve been. 

Naomi Nagata (played by the amazing Dominique Tipper). Genius WOC who saves everyones asses all the time with her tactical brilliance and tenacity. 

James Holden (played by that fire guy from sky high everyone attracted to boys had a crush on growing up Steven Strait). Captain struggling with the impossible situations he’s been thrust into, as he tries to protect his crew while still keeping his soul intact and the universe from imploding. Oh and with a voice that is ‘like riding down a beach by a gravely road during the greatest sunset you’ve ever seen’. (sound like someone we know and love?)

Enemies (ish) to friends to lovers in space. Obviously this is a spoiler, but I feel like I need to tell you they’re canon. And they have maybe one of the best first kiss scenes ever. Also some serious trust, respect and Co-Leaders who depend on each other to get through impossible situations. 

Not to mention actors getting to keep their accents (Dominique’s cute british accent 😍), Chrisjen (you’ll learn soon) and found families (!!!!)

If you have Amazon Prime the first season is there free. Or if you’re not in the US, it’s on Netflix We’re halfway into the second season now, so you’re not that far behind.

Maybe it’s a remnant of his childhood, when the showerhead at his mom’s apartment barely worked, but Bellamy’s always preferred baths. He likes the calm of it, the chance to turn off his mind and sink down into the water and revel in the stillness, his limbs floating at his sides.

So of course, when he’s settling into his first bath in weeks, Clarke threatens to ruin it.

“Bellamy?” he hears her call from outside the door. Miller must have let her in; he wasn’t expecting her for their weekly pizza and Parks and Rec date for another hour.

“In here!” he says. “Just a sec.”

But before he can move, she’s pushed the door open, striding into the bathroom with entirely too much nonchalance for someone who knew it was occupied.

“Hey,” he gripes. “Don’t you knock?”

She cocks her head. “What, don’t want me to see you naked? Newsflash: that ship has sailed.”

“So what, us dating means you’re just going to walk in on me in the bathroom, now? Because if so, we probably need to have a conversation about boundaries.”

“Ew, no,” says Clarke, wrinkling her nose as she leans back against the sink. “Miller said you were taking a bath, and I had to see that for myself. I didn’t know that was a thing people still did.”

“Hey, baths are great. Don’t knock baths.”

“Aren’t you just kind of…” Clarke shrugs. “Sitting in your own filth?”

“Are you trying to ruin baths for me?” Bellamy groans, sliding a wet hand through his hair. “Is this what our relationship has come to? Walking in on each other in the bathroom and passive aggressively destroying the things the other loves?”

“Isn’t that what all relationships eventually come to?” Clarke teases. She eyes the tub. “You know, I don’t think I’ve taken a bath since I was like five. You recommend it?”

“Yes. Bath are great. I am pro-bath.”

Clarke bites her lip, thoughtful. “Hmm. Okay.”

Without any warning, she lifts the hem of her shirt over her head.

It’s not like the sight of a half-naked Clarke is new to him. But it still makes his heart swan dive down his spine.

“Clarke—”

“What?” she grins, shimmying her underwear down her legs. “I’m just taking your recommendation.”

When she’s fully naked, she steps over the edge of the tub, smile warm and dazzling, and then sinks down into the water with a deliberate, tantalizing slowness.

Unfortunately, he’d drawn the bath anticipating he’d be the only one in it, and the addition of Clarke sends an impressive spurt of water over the edge of the tub and onto the tile floor.

“Well,” Clarke remarks, glancing over the rim of the tub. “That was sexier in my head.”

“Pretty sexy in real life, too,” Bellamy offers, sliding his calf along hers.

Clarke grins. “So, this is a bath.”

“Yes.”

“And you just…sit here?”

“Yes.”

“Huh.”

Bellamy scooches closer, curves his palms along her sides.

“Normally, I’m in here alone. But I feel like we could come up with something different to do, now that there’s two of us.” He leans forward, pressing his lips to the side of her throat.

“This is all just a part of your pro-bath platform, isn’t it? I will not be converted.”

Bellamy bites down a bit and smiles when Clarke gasps at the contact.

“I think you should at least hear my arguments,” Bellamy murmurs, hands inching up her sides.

Clarke laughs, curling her hands into his hair.
