A bi woman (or nb) who subverts societal expectations of womanhood for herself, women, men, or others.

This is not to be confused with a “feminine bi woman.”

What this means is a bi woman (or nb) who subverts the expectations of femininty, by performing their version femininty for themself, women, and others.

Loving women as a woman/nb is an imherently radical experience. It can be scary and alienating.

Damme is meant to provide community and support to likeminded bisexuals, who defy heteronormative expectations and live their femininity outside of what straight cis men want. This can extend to feminine presentation, and often times presentation is important in expression and flagging yourself as a damme, but it is not a necessary component. This is about you, who you are and who you want to be. It’s about living outside of the cage of straight cis womanhood.

Tomme Bi 🧡

A bi woman (or nb) who rejects societal expectations of womanhood for herself, women, men, or others.

This is not to be confused with a “Masculine bi woman.”

What this means is a bi woman (or nb) who completely rejects the societal expectations of femininity and womanhood. This could be through masculinity, androgyny, neither, or anything in between.

Defying the expectation for femininty in women is hard and scary. Tomme is supposed to provide a sense of community and support for gnc bi women/nbs of all kinds, from every society and ethnicy and background. Gnc bi women are the most vulnerable members of the bi community and absolutely need terminology to reflect their experiences.

These terms are TRANS AND NB INCLUSIVE. TERFS FUCK OFF

These terms are not descriptions of appearance, and are not a spectrum. You’re either a damme or a tomme, not both. Not a “dammish tomme” or a “tommish damme.”

That said it’s totally okay to not fall under these terms at all, or to use different terms. But these terms are meant to be respectful, comfortable, and inclusive of all bi women/nbs regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, etc.

Please take the time to support, uplift and remember your Native, First Nations, Aboriginal and otherwise Indigenous friends and family. We are here, we exist! We have a long and winding history that deserves to be heard and respected! The word ‘Indigenous’ is so wonderful, and so expansive, and includes so many different cultures under its arms. Go out, learn about our histories and our cultures. Talk to the Indigenous people around you! We’re everywhere!

And not only that, but also be sure to give extra support to LGBT indigenous voices in this community. We are a minority that is scarcely acknowledged, and in desperate need of it. Too many times have I gotten strange looks for being so openly Native and so openly a lesbian. It’s as if that combination is impossible for people to understand. Support our content, buy from our stores! Or at least just include us!

but my mattress is literally moulding because it’s been on the floor and the basement is moist etc cause bedframes are expensive. I’m p sure I have to replace it but also need a bed frame to put it on so this doesn’t happen again … lol.

I know for my mattress second hand I paid like 150 so I’ll keep an eye out. New the cheapest I know is 199 from ikea if anyone has any other suggestions that ship reasonable to easter Canada let me know. Cheapest bedframe I’ve seen that doesn’t need a boxspring is like 130 from amazon I think. All told I’m hoping to get as close to $400 as I can. I live on a fixed income so big expenses like these are a lot!
