Krebs - Tempura wizard

He/Him

74 years old (Captured when 36)

Krebs is the oldest monster of the bunch, and the first monster Gilgan and Airiss helped. Being the oldest, he acts as a third parental figure of the group and helps his friends manage the other monsters. Using his limited shapeshifting powers, he regained the ability to physically talk. This not only makes him able to translate specifically what the rest of his family may need, but he's also able to work solo when rescuing people from monster attacks.

I Unlike regular tempura wizards, he prefers to be on his feet. I’m battle, he prefers to use his fire magic along with his tools and physical strength. It’s rare for him to use his tempura curse, and most of the time it’s to shut Airiss up or temporarily restrain an overly unruly human during rescues. He of course can undo it, and he’d never eat those he curses.

As a human, he was a well liked soldier. He also had a wife and two children. Being a monster, he now can’t be as social as he used to be. On bad days he can feel pretty isolated and bitter about that. Though, as a monster he's still level headed and smart. He actually helped a lot when Gilgan and Airiss first took in Anki as an infant.

Granted, before Krebs fully regained his human memories, he did kill and eat quite a few people. This haunts him. Even though Gilgan tries to reassure him that those deaths weren't his fault, he doesn't see it that way. Him trying to help people in the present is the only way he feels he can make up for those he killed, but at the same time, he never feels like it's enough.

Rynn /Lishe - Syrens

She/her

Rynn: 57 (Captured when 21)

Lishe: 55 (Captured when 19)

The syren sisters were the second monsters Gilgan and Airiss helped. While out, Airiss had found the sisters after they had fallen into a monster hunter’s trap. Rynn was completely wrapped up in a chain net, and Lishe fiercely tried to defend her sister from the angel. Airiss managed to earn their trust and brought them back home where he, Gilgan, and Krebs helped them fully piece together their past lives.

Rynn acts like the big sister of the house. She also helps keep the others in line, and takes charge on rescues. She learned a handful of electric attacks. Lishe is a tad more on the reserved side. She does a much better job at trying to comfort people she encounters on rescues. She learned a handful of ice attacks, but it’s rare for her to use them.

Both of them managed to not kill anyone while they were under the Underworld’s command. However Lishe did accidentally kill the monster Hunter that captured them in an act of self defense. While she feels terrible it happened, she’s been able to move on from it.

Phias - Armin

He/him

48 years old (captured when 14)

The family found Phias when he charged into a town they just happened to be visiting. The scared monster was desperately trying to reunite with his mother after regaining his human memories, but the people he grew up with quickly restrained and attacked him. Gilgan managed to save him and convince the town’s guards of who he is, but his mother just couldn’t accept her child’s new form.

Dejected, the family took him in, and he’s forever grateful for that. Like Lishe, he’s more reserved, but very much likes positive attention from others. During rescues he focuses on clearing away rubble and protecting people from monster fire.

As a human, he liked to sculpt and woodcarve. Now lacking hands, he gets frustrated often that he can do what he loves. Out of all the monsters he’s the most frustrated with his new body. Krebs and Gilgan do their best to make him as comfortable as they can.

Mos - Shootfly

He/him

42 years old (Captured when 9)

Mos is the newest addition to the family. He was found just a few years before Medusa's return. Mos had been captured by a band of monster hunters and brought into a camp outside a city. Gilgan just happened to be nearby and noticed the hunters beating and antagonizing the poor trapped child. At the moment, she didn't realize he was a cursed human, but she didn't care and rescued him anyways. She brought him back to her house where she tended to his wounds.

Being so young when he was cursed, and having been attacked as a monster, Mos is very flighty. He's terrified of men in particular, as well as other monsters. Because of this it took him quite some time to settle with the rest of the family. For weeks Gilgan was the only one who could even approach and interact with him without the risk of getting charged or bitten. Even after he started to trust the other monsters, he still wouldn't open up about who he was. All Krebs was ever able to get out of him was his name.

Even after being comfortable with the family, he still prefers to be in his own quiet corner of the house. Thanks to his large ears, he's very sensitive to sounds and he gets overstimulated very easily. Compared to when Gilgan first found him, he has started to be less wary of strangers, but he still hates being touched or crowded. If he's out with the family he tends to sit on Phias' horns.

After I had read her description, specifically how Bélalune is a socialite who gets pushy with getting what she wants, combined with all of the light pink and purple, I instantly thought of Jacinthe from Pokémon Legends: ZA. Sooooo I decided to draw her in Jacinthe's outfit and hair, but with her own color palette and the star details! I wasn't quite happy with it at first, but I probably just needed to sleep lmao I'm okay with it now
