spent the day on the little islands. clipping the curves is the worst part. on the bigger pieces you only have to clip/notch the deepest curves. on these little guys, it’s whoops! all deep curves

also had some “assistance”

i’ve been trimming the centers away to reduce bulk and weight, and the backs look fun

islanding it up. only have to do one more round on the smallest one and then i can rearrange them on the big piece and baste them in place. stitch stitch stitch. (i made the biggest one well after i started on all the others, so rearrangement is necessary)

most of my recent nights have been 1-2 taskmasters (we’re on s14 rn) and 1-2 hours of audiobooks. the focus green will be left unquilted (and therefore puffy). making it to the little blobs inside really feels like the end is in sight!!

good news i panic bought cheap bathing suit sets (two bottoms, two tops, and a rash guard) last night and this morning bc i suddenly remembered we’re going somewhere with pools and water parks and i haven’t actually put a swimsuit on my body in at least two years

i’m already like a month late on dyeing my hair.. thinking of stretching it and letting it look like trash for another month bc of said pools and water parks

my mom used to take A on the extended family wildwood trip every year, but i think the last time would have been in 2019. maybe once in 2022 before gmom came to live up here? idk. A is like “what am i gonna do on a boardwalk?!” i don’t think she remembers. she also “hates rides” now? wtf. i’m pretty sure the great nor’easter holds my second highest lifetime number of rides, even though i haven’t been on it in 20 years. the corkscrews on it might make me sick now. STILL GONNA TRY
