Willem Arondeus was involved in the Dutch resistance during WWII, including the distribution of fake registration cards to Jewish citizens. In an effort to prevent these from being revealed as forgeries, he took part in an attack on the registration building, burning it to the ground. 

Unfortunately, the group were betrayed and most of them were sentenced to death. Willem and two other men from the group, Sjoerd Bakker and Johan Brouwer, were gay. Willem spoke his last words, the quote above, to his lawyer, asking him to make it known that the three men were gay. They were executed on July 1st, 1943.

The group responsible for the attack, including these three men, have been recognised as Righteous Among the Nations, the title given to non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust, by Yad Vashem.

On Tumblr a lot of us are guilty of glamorizing the opioid lifestyle.

What we don’t show is walking to the sketchiest part of town in the middle of the night to get a fix.

What we don’t show is the gut-wrenching withdrawals.

What we don’t show is how you can end up penniless because of them.

We don’t show the damage that they do to our relationships.

We don’t show you the things that we said we would never do but end up doing to get a fix.

I went from weekend warrior, to a crushingly expensive daily addiction, to banging untested research chemical opioids and I write this in the throes of withdrawal.

If you’ve ever seen that scene in Requiem for a Dream where Marion’s having a panic attack going through her washroom cupboard taking any pill she can find and chugging down whatever cough syrup is around - that’s VERY fucking real.

Nothing on my blog is there to encourage opioid use, I simply collect images that appeal to me.

If you’re thinking of trying opioids/opiates and you want my advice, here it is, “don’t”

There’s no telling how much you’ll like that first oxy, or that fifth.
