The Strange Old Soul

ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): النُّفُوسُ أشكالٌ ، فما تَشاكَلَ مِنها اتَّفَقَ ، والناسُ إلى أشكالِـهِم أميَلُ .

Their meat will not reach Allah , nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.

ـ الإمامُ‏الباقرُ أو الإمامُ‏الصّادقُ(: لايَكتُبُ المَلَكُ إلّا ما يَسمَعُ ، قالَ اللّه‏ُ عزّوجلّ: «وَاذْكُـرْ رَبَّكَ في نَفسِكَ»: لا يَعلمُ ثوابَ ذلكَ الذِّكرِ في نَفسِ العَبدِ غيرُ اللّه‏ِ تعالى. ‪Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘The angel only writes down what he hears, but when Allah, Mighty and Exalted, has said, “And remember your Lord within your heart…”, no one knows the reward of that remembrance in the heart of the servant except Allah, most High.’

It is incumbent upon the rich to visit the grave of al-Husayn (peace be upon him) twice in one year and upon the poor to visit him once a year.

Bliss be for Shi'a, the adherers to our love during the occultation of our Qa'im, who will remain steadfast on our adoration and detestation of our enemies. They are ours and we are theirs. They are pleased with us as Imams and we are pleased with them as Shi'a.

They used to sleep only a little while at night and at dawn used to seek forgiveness.

أحسن الظن بالناس كأنهم كلهم خير، و اعتمد على نفسك كأنه لا خير في الناس  Think well of people as if they’re all good, and rely on yourself as if there is no good in people.

Prophet Musa (a) once asked Allah (swt): ’ O Allah! Do I cry out to you if you’re far or do I whisper to you if you’re near? The very next moment Allah (swt) replied and said: ‘O Musa, I am right next to the one who remembers me. I hear your thoughts before you bring them to your lips’
