the thing is i think that if buck knew he was queer when he met eddie, they might have figured their shit out by now. but because he didn't. because he didn't recognize what he was feeling when he first saw him as attraction, he's been able to completely compartmentalize his Eddie Feelings as being entirely platonic. because they haven't changed since he met him!! and that's what he decided it was back then and nothing is different now!!! he's different but they aren't. so eddie is his platonic friend who he is Not in love with because he's always been his platonic friend that he was Not in love with and nothing has changed.
