Billy takes Steve out into the vast wide ocean
"We'll stargaze. Have you ever looked at the stars when there's water all around you and dark waves lull you gently?"
So they lie on their surfboards and go a little bit further away from the shore line, and it's so beautiful their hearts ache
Especially Steve's, he's really never seen, never experienced something like that before
And they look at the stars, and the waters are kind and warm and soothing, and they kiss, and Billy even manages to jerk Harrington off, right there on the surfboard
Steve's breath is taken away, it feels like he's in a fairly tale, magic surrounds them, and the world is truly, endlessly amazing.
The only unfortunate thing is that the boys get so carried away by the magic, they absolutely lose caution
So when Steve asks
"Maybe we should get back home? I wanna do stuff with you."
It turns out they are pretty far from the shore.
Well, fuck.
"Are we gonna die?" Steve's panicking. "If we die, Billy, please know you are the love of my life and I'll love you forever even after my heart stops beating. Oh my god, I love you so much .."
"Just paddle." Grits Hargrove. "Let's paddle, Stevie."
Max calls rescue services in the morning when she stops by their place, doesn't find them there, no surfboards, and they are not on the beach. Maybe they drove somewhere far, but she thinks it's better to be on the safe side.
