name: Maria Estella Corina Reuda, ‘Ella’ status: fandomless ocfc: Alexa VegaElla was adopted very young- her mother was only at the beginning of a 40 year sentence for the brutal murder of Ella’s father, a married man with a family of his own. Unfortunately for Ella, the adoption was more or less a manipulation- a political move by a man maneuvering into power, gaining the vote of the local Latinx population by taking in a child bred in violence. She spent a great deal of her childhood paraded around by the O’Sullivan clan, kept neatly penned in, denied any access to her heritage, absolutely denied access to her mother or information about her mother more than the knowledge that her mother had killed her father.

A lifetime of being used as a pawn, a tool, for others tainted Ella’s sense of self. She has a difficult time being alone, being without direction. She’s extremely dependent on others to define who she is, adapting at will to any situation, something she sees as an asset, but which others recognize as her being false, or fair weather, decidedly easy to use.

in as much as the guys WERE friends with the ladies hanging around them, i think it’s extremely likely that they were friends. 

i think at the very core of them, they’re very much alike. and the mutual attraction would have been obvious to at least gemma. but the entire thing, i suspect, was very much a tragic comedy of poor timing- gemma ended up with jt, and clay was pushed to the side for a little bit, before jt’s mismanagement of his wife opened the way for clay to swoop back in.

and i mean, that’s clearly a very simplistic view of what happened. there was a lot more to it, i suspect. whether or not that included gemma’s ambitions, i can’t rightly say- i would actually guess she didn’t begin to develop the level of her ambition in regard to the club until she had a taste of being a president’s old lady. so it’s more likely a whole series of other, interesting things, that i would actually need to bounce against someone else to develop fully. ♥
