Pregnancy had awakened some new, previously unknown dimension to Erin's personality. In those first few weeks, as her lean and slender form slowly began to disappear, she found herself--much to her surprise--not minding the changes.

Becoming optimized for motherhood was her new mission, and she would pursue it with the same fanatical focus she had pursued her other dreams.
