Something I see a lot when people comment on xenomelia is the claim that it’s something that could only be made up by a middle-class man working in office somewhere, or a bored housewife looking for attention; A problem for people who don’t have other problems.

It’s all pretty baseless, and considering how many of us are lgbt, have other “real” disabilities, or aren’t white, it’s dumb to say this is a condition for people with easy lives.
