Well event complete and I have a lot of thoughts.
Before I get into the real best map (EX-6), why is its DPS check of beating the stuffing out of 5 butlers in 180 seconds
Easier than the DPS check of the 5th normal stage, which is 2 minutes for 8 butlers?
(not to mention that the other enemies in that stage have more HP)
Anyways, it's a shame that none of the stages really played into the rotating moonlight as well as EX-6. Blocking the light on the cocoons ASAP pays off, and as you slowly rotate units around from blocking light coming from the top to light coming from the right you get this really good shifting composition.
Imo, Arknights is at it's best when you gotta schmove a few people around the map, and this mechanic is literally built to do that.... but instead most of the maps have a ton of undeployable tiles so you can't get good moonlight blockage.
On the flip side, the enemies stat packages led to some really interesting strategies (0 DEF wolffs -> #wildmanesweep, ayerscarpe slow & range to counter spiders, utage infinite redeploy tactics, invis moonlight blockers dodging corettons), but even that kind of fell flat when you fight the moths and their evil stat package in the 7th normal stage, or when EX-3's challenge mode put the HP of corettons above Vendela's s2 (except if you had it at M3) and Tequila's talent, which ruined a lot of more interesting strategies than Czerny
I think my opinion is that this could have been a top tier gameplay event but the execution was really, really fumbled. A shame
