Little bit of early MerMay stuff but technically not mermaid for that DarkLico AU.
-Instead of mermaid it's a mix with licorice monster selkie Licorice x Prince Dark Choco.
-Licorice really wants to be a wizard still. He follows boats around hoping something falls from them or they sink and ransacks them for magical loot and books.
-He saves Dark Choco one night while following a ship he got on. Originally he was going to Let Choco drown, but he recognizes him as a prince from his few escapades on land and thinks he can get some good things from him if he lives.
-Dark Choco himself was on the trip learning to sail for the future. One night, he's out on the deck enjoying the quiet when he spots something glowing in the water. He can't quite make it out but as he leans over the railing to see better, someone shoves him.
-The last thing Choco sees before he's unconscious is an oozeling coming his way lol. (If you're going to assassinate the prince, the Licorice Sea is a great way to kill him barring any rogue oozeling selkies in the water.)
-Licorice absolutely waits in cookie/human form for Choco to wake up bc he's planning to capitalize on this heavily. Though he does panic and hide behind a rock when he actually wakes up.
-lots of complaints. Mostly about dragging him to shore.
-Choco is very glad to be alive but he's a bit confused how he survived. Honestly he's more concerned about whoever pushed him in.
-Definitely offers to take Licorice back to the Citadel to repay him for saving his life. Licorice is very pleased by this (all according to plan).
-Licorice's 'selkie skin' is his robe. He guards it with his life.
-possible mix of problems like someone figuring it out and stealing Licorice's selkie coat and Dark Chocos attempted assassination.
-Choco fell first but Licorice fell harder.
-Licorice has absolutely heard stories from other licorice selkies about having their coats stolen and being forced to stay on land as someone's partner. As much as he wants that reward, he's terrified someone will find out he's a selkie and take his robes from him.
-Luckily, Dark Choco is the type to admire Licorice's free spirit and instead try to prove himself trustworthy once he finds out.
