STOCKY: of solid and sturdy form or build; thick-set, having a strong, stout stem, as a plant.  Add stock to soup to make thicker.  Expands thicker everywhere.

HUSKY: big and strong; burly, having a semi-whispered vocal tone; somewhat hoarse, as when speaking with a cold or from grief or passion.  Carries bulk in various places.

BURLY: large in bodily size; stout; sturdy.  Rough or swaggered.  The security guard was too burly to get around.

PORTLY: rather heavy or fat; stout; corpulent.  Archaic. stately, dignified, or imposing.  Size in mid-section.  The portly man was lazy.

STOUT: bulky in figure; heavily built; corpulent; thickset; fat: firm; stubborn; resolute.   He is getting too stout for that shirt.

STUBBY: of the nature of or resembling a stub.  Short and thick or broad; thick-set or squat: stubby fingers.  He’s getting as stubby as a fireplug.

PLUMP: well filled out or rounded in form; somewhat fleshy or fat.  Not very firm, inflated in places; his plump belly jiggled as he jogged.

CHUBBY: bulbous, swollen, pumped; well-rounded, bulging in places, in the cheeks, fatty areas. His chubby bum looked bloated.

PUDGY: short, fat, thick; distend, inflated, oily.  Cub was pudgy after we had that pizza and beer.

BUXOM: full-bosomed, healthy, plump, cheerful, and lively.  He was buxom and invigorated after the hike.

HEFTY: heavy; weighty: a hefty book. big and strong; powerful; muscular: a hefty athlete. Impressively large or substantial.  He is so hefty from lifting weights.

ROTUND: round in shape; rounded: ripe, rotund fruit. plump; fat.  Full-toned or sonorous:  His presence was grand and rotund.
