Imagine that as an already-too-disabled-to-work trans woman in an actual sundown town.

Imagine you lose Medicaid and SNAP since you aren't working or considered Disabled Enough not to.

Imagine watching debt pile up while you have no choice but to use credit cards to get through.

Imagine not being able to reliably get to appointments because your car is too expensive to fix up and your city has no transit (hence, the bike in the first place!!).

Imagine seeing your partner who works full-time as a student struggle to support you while you feel overwhelming guilt that you can't do anything about it.

Hi again. My wife and I are as yall know a trans girl couple, disabled and unemployed, struggling to get employment and just lost the bit of help we'd been getting. Now that rent has gone and emptied our bank account, we have no money for food and our only bed sheet has decided this is the perfect time to rip up. We tried sewing it and new holes have just formed instead, and I don't think it will survive the next wash. If you can contribute to helping us replace it and to helping us Eat!! We would appreciate it 🩷

A decent bed sheet seems to be going for around $75 and we could use around $100 for groceries, if you can spare even a few bucks it'd help a lot

I've been working as a frontline social worker serving people experiencing homelessness and at-risk youth for seven years. During that time, I've never taken more than a week off work, even when I was hospitalized with Type 1 diabetes.

Right now, I'm struggling in ways that I haven't before. I'm struggling to accomplish work tasks, to empathize with my clients, and to show up every day to be a support. I am exhausted, experiencing severe burnout. My clients are vulnerable people, often other trans people, and I simply can't provide them the care they deserve while I'm in this state.

I've taken emergency mental health leave to address burnout, suicidal ideation, and substance use. My state's paid leave program is a wonderful resource, but payments can take time, as long as a month from today when I file. Until then, I'm worried about covering rent, groceries, and other basic expenses.

I don't want to return to full-service sex work to bridge that gap. It has been traumatic for me, and doing so again would mean putting myself back into situations I've worked hard to leave behind.

If you're able to help, your support will help me keep a roof over my head, buy groceries, and give me the time to recover without having to earn money in ways that are painful or dangerous for me.
