Throw back to my favorite Texas couple! Okay, I might be a little biased considering he's my brother and she's the best sister in law I could ask for! This was the very first photography session I had ever done two years ago, with a rented lens no less! I'm so grateful my brother gave me the opportunity to push myself to try a more professional approach to photography! Ramadan is such an interesting holiday, I'm just now learning about it! I must say I have a greater respect for the Muslim faith now. 🙌Their devotion to their religion is truly impressive and inspiring! In my faith we are asked to fast for only 2 meals once a month, they fast from dawn until sunset equaling around 11-16 hrs, or if you're in the polar regions of the world 22 hours in a day! I'd love to learn more about it as other religions fascinate me! With millions of refugees being uprooted from their homes everyday, I'm proud to be in a country that helps them have safe refuge from the nightmare they once called home. There is still so much our country can and should do to help these innocent children. My heart is so heavy just knowing a glimpse of what these children must have gone through to get here. Being able to witness a child being brought into this world in such an incredible manner was indeed a profound experience I will never forget. The incredible will power of this mother to push against all the pain in such an inconvenient position for the safety of her child will always stick with me, and shows me how incredible we as women are to be able to accomplish such a feat. I’m so proud of this mom and friend of mine!

Even in some of the greatest of pain, he was by her side embracing her with his support and love as she rode through the waves of labor like a worrior.

As she was over an hour into active labor, she still found her joy and laughter.

This is where a birth story unfolds, in all of its beauty and challenges that come with it. Throughout the course of several days, perhaps weeks you will have the opportunity to witness some of the magic that is homebirth, from one of the most incredible and courageous woman I know.
