treating topping/bottoming like a personality trait and characters like different versions of themselves based on sex positions and splitting fandom and content into "sides" based on that is not a normal thing to do.

"tradfujos" do not "just have a preference," yall are so steeped in heteronormative frameworks and gender roles that you are actively revolted by queer people who do not conform to them. yes, if you think a big hairy muscled man bottoming is gross, that's not a preference, it's homophobia.

just because you use queer people as an outlet for your sexuality does not mean that queer people are a porn trope that aren't personally affected by your behavior. you can't "it's just fiction" your way out of telling queer people that you think only feminine people should bottom or that you get disgusted by big men being submissive.

there has been a lot of nonsense discourse about yaoi in the past few years (i.e. "fetishizing men") but the overcorrection from that has lead to rejecting all criticism of behavior in your communities. you've got open terfs attacking people who create trans headcanons and straight women and people steeped in heteronormativity who actively start bullshit fandom wars over their ingrained homophobic reactionary responses to content they don't like, and rather than analyze that, y'all call it all "preferences."
