This prompt fest was created for anyone who wishes to write RPF featuring an ensemble cast or individual players who are members of the Boston Bruins, past or present!

Sign-Ups Open: October 14th, 2021

Sign-Ups Close: November 24th, 2021

Fics due: January 3rd, 2022

Fics revealed: January 7th, 2022

Rules: 

1. Your main friend group/ensemble cast (for genfic), or main pairing/polyship (for shipping fic) must include at least one active Bruins player at the time that the fic is set.

2. The fic should have a focus on the fact that they are Bruins; ie., not writing about one player leaving the team and being welcomed to a new one.

3. There is a 2k minimum word count. There is no maximum limit.

4. You do not have to claim a particular prompt! They are there for inspiration, not a mandate.

5. Recasting other players as Bruins is accepted, and strongly encouraged, even! However, this doesn’t count towards the minimum player count.

6. Please tag and warn appropriately.

7. A wide breadth of genres and players is always welcome – ranging from PWP to whump to angst, and beyond. However, this is a team-specific fest, use your judgement when it comes to the tone around representing the Bruins and their players. Avoid blanket bashing for this specific fest.

let people be upset about trades and the expansion draft! let people fuckin idk mourn or whatever they need to do! even if you don’t get why someone would care about that player or that team! have some fuckin empathy?

especially for new fans - learning how to deal with trades and retirements and expansion drafts etc can be really really hard, and most new fans haven’t had to deal with seeing their favourite player stop playing for their favourite team yet. even hardened hockey fan veterans have a hard time dealing with that shit, you aren’t a ‘better fan’ just because this isn’t your first rodeo.

just. be nice to people. talk shit about a team in your groupchat with other people that hate that team, don’t post about it in the team’s tag for other fans to see.

it’s not that hard to let people enjoy things that you don’t, or to let people be sad about things you don’t think warrant that reaction.

and if you are hurting, because of a trade or retirement or the expansion draft?

no matter what you’ve heard, you’re not just overreacting. you’re allowed to be heartbroken, you’re allowed to be sad. you’re allowed to feel, to mourn.
