I have also been helping out Leeds Mencap, and this project will continue to run into summer. I was approached by Marianne who asked if I'd be interested in producing a film which would be played on a loop at Leeds City Museum. It was silent, and had a very fixed idea. The idea was that
I also plan to help document the East Street Arts event 'Bike Fest' which run throughout July. I think this will be a great opportunity to show what I have been building on (film technicalities) over that last 6 months.
Next year/3rd year plans...
I want to find an innovative way of utilising my comedic performance skills, and incorporate it into film.
I would also like to continue to build on my technical ability to film and edit, and also really start to question and analyse the content of the films I am producing.

Over Summer, I'm off to Canada to visit my sister in Canada. We plan to start in Calgary, then road trip through the Rockies in a camper-van until we finally finish the trip at Vancouver Island. To say i'm excited would be an understatement!
I plan to record my time there, and want to learn how to get great shots when under pressure time-wise. I also want to find an innovative way of utilising my comedic performance skills.

Dutch Simpson - He demonsrates some really innovative shots and I really want to try and get used to creating shots like this so that the films I begin to produce have great technical shots as well as beautiful content.
Caleb & Shawn - Canoe
Some beautiful and atmospheric shots. Also shows the kind of colour grading I hope to start learning how to achieve.

Rick Mereki is a film maker who documents travel and inspires his audience to get out and see the world! Just the kind of thing I'd love to do!

Went to the Year 2 photography exhibition down at Vernon Street to support my housemate Bryony, who has submitted some beautiful photo collages which worked under the title of 'Photography as Representation.'
I went to support Kai, Sacha, and the team at the Nest III Launch - it was the best launch of their's yet! There was a piñata, free burritos, and it was in a great venue down at the bottom of town. Some great articles in the new mag too!
Got chatting to a man who also volunteered at Inkwell so found some common ground on that.
Getting our work out there, and contacting inspirational artists about their methods and processes!
It was then time to market the film. We made sure all of the networking sites were up to date and running, and then began sharing it across all platforms - mainly Twitter. We got loads of great feedback. Maya spent a good few hours tagging and tweeting various camping blogs, websites, and magazines, while I sent it round Tumblr, and Facebook, and throughout our friends.
Most of the interest we recevied was via Twitter and email. We...
were contacted by a Camping Magazine (www.campingmagazine.co.uk) asking if they could put the film on their website
retweeted by: editor of camping magazine, Vango Tents company, RedRover Camping, Hiking Haven, Campr, Losehill House Hotel of the Peak district
contacted by Campr website and app asking us if we'd like to go and film some camping videos for their developing iOS app!
received over 300 views in under 12 hours
new followers on twitter and youtube and instagram
recevied positive comments on the youtube video link

Here is the film!
I looked at the more popular Youtubers/channels and how they marketed themselves as professionals, and also at consistency throughout their films.
JacksGap have an introduction they use on every film. Their shots are very well thought out, beautifully shot, but not very spur of the moment which is the direction we'd like to go down. They use a similar colour scheme in their logo and on their Youtube artwork.
Casey Neistat's films are messier, more 'in the moment' and more genuine. He often uses big quotes that back up his film's theme/message. There is a mix between hand held shaky shots, beautiful in focus and HD shots, and signature cutting methods. Casey also used a similar colour scheme and imagery used in his logo on his Youtube Artwork. He has also watermarked all of his footage uploaded onto youtube.
