Love is when your arm is asleep and your back is hurting from how they’re laying on you, but you lay there rubbing her arm or playing with her hair and kissing her forehead. Love is a hellish fight at 2 am and you almost leave but you realize that the only way to make everything better is listening to each other, compromising with each other, and accepting each other. Love is giving her the confidence and power to love herself without belittling yourself. Love is the color red, the color of her lips and cheeks that you long to kiss after a hard day at work. Love is letting her wear your favorite hoodie that your dad gave you. Love is laying on her bed and the sunshine is coming through the window on the her bare skin that has scars and stretch marks and you kiss them reassuring her that they are beautiful, because they are. Love is walking through autumn leaves for the second year in a row. Love is feeling the warmth of her neck on your nose when you nuzzle into her during a snow storm. Love is burning cookies on Valentine’s Day but you eat them anyways. Love is telling people how lucky you are to love her, to know her, to kiss her, for her to love you, to have each other. Love is a first real date after a year of dating because you were too busy falling in love to care about dinner. She is love.
