　There is a roll of ocean-colored eyes. He doesn't really fuckin' care. Billy just enjoys giving @berylcluster some shit and seeing how the other easily riles to every occasion. They're the same in that way, he supposes, although different too. Easily reactive, but never the same responses to the stimuli. Billy's already shrugging 'cause it would have been pretty badass to use a real body. Too bad there was too much risk in being associated with anything they dabbled in. The games were the best part. When they squirmed a little realizing they were being played —— so he smiles instead. 'Cause ain't no way he was gonna decorate his place with some pansy shit.

his words are breathed on a heavy sigh, and he turns himself away and looks somewhere, anywhere else. ash's mind is bogged down in a swamp of self-hatred & knowledge, the knowledge that death would never claim him for long ; and it's been this way forever. to the point that he himself cannot remember what it's like to care about one's own safety. one's own life.

ashley turns to dean and though his eyes have softened considerably, there's a vortex of emotion brewing in those brown hues. a dark storm on the horizon. could he ever tell dean the truth? that he himself is by all practical means, immortal?

he can't add credence to the word by speaking it, so he doesn't. died, he means to say. maybe a possible segway into a confession? ash never did like the weight of guilt upon his shoulders.

➫ THERE'S hands that fly up, aggravation is radiating off of him like heat from the sun. His back is turned and only then does he realize Sam has left the area, probably in an attempt to cool off Dean, less targets for him to throw the anger around. He can't look at Ash right now, there's no way his blood pressure could handle it. What he wouldn't say or speak into the universe is the way his heart dropped when his little brother greeted him at the door, worry all over that face that could conceal nothing from Dean.

In an effort to calm himself, he grabbed the medical supplies scattered across the library's long table, but he still can't look Ashley in the eyes. And because of that, Dean is thrown off by the next revelation to come from the guy's mouth. He slams down the medical grade alcohol, turning eerily slowly back to look at the injured party, nostrils flaring. "What kind of question is that? Stop fucking talking like that." It's the best he can muster that isn't just more yelling.

"Oh come on, of course there is!" Scott retorted. "These are farmers, they only grow the best. And besides, they can't make a good buck if they have a dumpy inventory." Cassie in the distance, holding a fairly large pumpkin over her head for her father to inspect it. Her eyes curious while she mouthed - "Yes? No?"

No, Scott shakes his head and waves his hand to put that one down. She can find better. "Oh, you want the pumpkin Linus sought for, eh?" His brow arched in his mentor's direction. "Y'know you are the king of shrink and growth tech. What, for once you don't want to meddle with something's particles?" Scott chuckled. "I take it you never heard of the 'giant pumpkin contests' some fall events hold. You'd get a kick outta how many farmers push the limits on pumpkins." Cassie holds another pumpkin in the air, slightly struggling to hold the heavy pumpkin over her head, she stumbles in fact. Now, with better balance, she holds the pumpkin a little better in the air. She mouths "Yes? No?" again.

Grumpy would have been only the beginning of what Hank was, if there was a word for being so out of the seasonal spirit, it was him. Part of him wondered, the few times he let his mind wander off without care, why a guy like Scott Lang would have invited him out in the first place. Hank Pym was the Grinch for all seasons. Only made worse by having to participate in silly traditions such as this and - "Janet broke things off. If I get a pumpkin, it's getting blown up on Halloween, there is no other use for it with me." Nothing could have staved off this mood of his, he'd rather be curled up in the lab.

"It's just all so... American." With a small sigh, Keiko steps closer to the table herself, straightening out the edges of the runner and moving all the spiders far out of reach of Hiroshi's usual seat. Only once she's satisfied with her fiddling does she step back - in front of Lee this time, standing close enough for her shoulder to brush against his chest. "But I guess that's the point, isn't it?"

Glancing back up towards Lee, it's with a chuckle and a shake of her head that she finally concedes, in her own way. "Whose authority is that even on, anyway? Billy's?" She's still learning to get used to this. To letting them both into her life - into her son's life - so completely.

"That is the point, congratulations. You've just come to terms with why we do this for every holiday, even the silly American ones. What can I say? We like to go all out, make fools of ourselves, and have fun while doing it. Even bastardizing dining room tables." He tries not to notice the closeness, the way Keiko so effortlessly slides into his space and stays there. Lee allots all the air to her, like her presence is enough to wring his lungs and leave him breathless. Blue eyes fall to his shoes, his last ditch attempt to peel himself away, to not give in and save them both the awkwardness.

And thank whatever God there is for it, in the case of any roadtrippers unlucky enough to take a dangerous cliffside turn too quickly, or in too inclement a forecast. They'd call a tow or a rescue, their car all dented up, front airbags sometimes deployed and front bumper all crumples with it if they did, and with a bizarre pattern upon the doors: whirls of fingerprints impossibly large. They must have been seeing things. Giants are mere metaphor, mere fable and frightful myth; they are not real.

The sky is a dark, gloomy thing; somehow the night seems even darker with the humidity in the air suggesting that it may pour any minute. Lurking in the darkness of the trees, he stood tall, watching curiously. This was not the first patrol sent to investigate him — but it was the first which spoke aloud to themselves in anything other than protocol and orders, and not via magical black boxes. Ingvar can see quite well in the dark, hasn't a clue humans can't. And so it is that he simply couldn't help himself in the moment but to respond to Dean's question to his brother — and thus leads us to the present moment.

The light from the human's flashlight shines brightly up towards his face; it is visible for but a brief moment, a face which would have appeared a stone mirage in the approximation of a very, very large human face, if only it were darker. But the light reveals all, including quite reflective eyes sensitive to light; subconsciously, the giant grunts, and raises an arm and a hand to shield his face from the brightness. His eyes simply cannot take such an abrupt, unnatural change.

As his eyes adjust again to the newly returned darkness, the arm lowers as he realizes the light is no longer being shone in its direction, and he beholds the man sprawled out upon his bottom — and dangerously close to a sheer drop into a ditch.

"Wait!" The word shakes the very leaves upon the trees — or perhaps that is merely the wind.

He's definitely freaking out, the ground shakes when this thing walks and he's not sure whether he'll be squished or eaten. Here lies Dean Winchester: eaten by a giant. His tombstone would surely turn heads, if not make other hunters laugh. Poor Sammy, he'd never see this thing coming - hell this kaiju could be his cousin, they share air space. Okay, so he's trying to make light of a situation that makes him want to scream like a little kid; while a giant's hand is hovering over to grab him.

Michael notes the hint of apprehension, and the corners of his mouth upturn in a mollifying smile. "Yeah."  Simple reassurance, though he's peering down at the older boy curiously. He's aware of his own avoidance, how haunted houses might remind him too keenly of this most recent summer. Horror is subjective, but vampires are showboats. Eat flashy, and die even more so. His own hands dip in leather jacket pockets and he fiddles with a few stray bills there. Smoothing linen between his fingertips.

"Sure. I could go for some chili cheese fries." A gentle nudge against the brunette's shoulder as he rights himself to cut through a throng of people. "Stay close yeah?" He's got height and bulk to part the metaphorical seas. But Carnivals have never quite felt the same since Santa Carla. 

➫ THERE’S a nod, “Yeah, sure.” And not much else can be said. At least nothing that he feels comfortable saying without mulling it over in his head. A lot goes unsaid between them, in the meantime, Steve plays a little game with himself. It’s a game he’s played a few times being bored at Family Video, by now he can spot baggage from a few paces away, just from how someone walks to how they talk. He tries not to judge anyone with snap decisions, but the game is addictive and it takes mere seconds for hazel eyes to look between these two men and see the baggage being dragged behind. He never knows what’s in the bags but he knows the weight when he sees it. Everyone’s got baggage, perhaps theirs was a little heavier. Perhaps.
