There seems to be some debate about the difference between a tabard and a monastic scapular. If you search tabard you’ll find garments that some people consider to be monastic scapulars. In rpgs they’re usually called tabards but some feel they are closer to monastic scapulars.

Kurapika changes from a knight/religious garment to a suit. And Leorio changes from a suit to a nurse outfit with a cross on it. In a way it’s like they’ve switched roles. Leorio preached about money in a suit while Kurapika preached about honor. Now Kurapika works for the rich in a suit, and Leorio heals in a religiously marked uniform.

It’s kind of ironic because Leorio has Paladinknight in his name and knights sometimes wore tabards/monastic scapulars
