You have actually and I’m not sure how I’m a dipshit.
"You know, very few people make me want to put them in a bag of rocks and throw them int the bottom of a lake, but sometimes you are that person. If you knew what a dipshit was, you'd know how you were one."
drinking from the bottle || HELEN + NIKITA
rightfulguardian-helen:
"I won’t", she answered with a smile. "Um…yeah, sure, I’ll start." Helen chewed on her lowerlip as she thought about what she would say. What could she say that wasn’t too much? That wouldn’t make Nikita freak out? This would be honestly a lot easier if Helen already knew who or rather what Nikita was. "Um….I’m gonna say red?" She raised an eyebrow before she picked up a card; Spade Ace. "Well, I’m not really surprised about that", the blonde admit with a little chuckle before she took a sip of her cup. "…um….something happened to my sister and I’m blaming myself for it… I think I could’ve prevented this stuff from happening, if I wouldn’t have avoided her for weeks." Helen brushed a strand of hair behind her ear as she looked at Nikita, waiting for her friends reaction.
Nikita smiled softly as a black card turned up and Helen murmured that she wasn't surprised. Maybe this would be easy. It was Helen after all. They weren't particularly close, and people said it was easier to talk to a stranger. The brunette stayed quiet as the other girl spoke, letting her say whatever she wanted and kept her face completely blank for fear of any judgement passing and that causing Helen to clam up. It was almost comforting to hear that other people blamed themselves for things that they probably couldn't control. Did she tell Helen that it wasn't her fault? "Maybe, but probably not. It's not your fault that it happened. It really isn't and you shouldn't stick on thinking about what would have gone differently if you had done something differently." She paused before changing the subject ad filling her cup. "I'm going to copy you and say red." When she flipped the car over, it was a three of clubs. Well, shit. "Okay," she mumbled taking a long drink, "so, I guess I'll say that... I've spent a lot of time... thinking that my dad kind of sucked because he never told me about my mother. She died in childbirth so I never knew her. I'd always ask about her, but he'd just get quiet and I thought it was because he couldn't handle talking about her, but when I went away, I found out it was because she told him not to. She didn't want him to be about her. I guess after finding out things about her, I can understand why she wanted to hide it from me, but it still kind of hurts."
jason-dunham:
I try
"You suck, have I told you that lately? Because it's true. Dipshit."

She’d unintentionally struck a well hidden nerve, that much was obvious. For others, maybe not, but for Jacqueline, reading Nikita happened to be very much similar to thoroughly examining a textbook. That book would more than likely hold facts not even she was aware of herself, but obtaining that knowledge was certainly a breeze when she possessed the capability to read the English (or French) text printed. It also went without saying Jacqueline wasn’t exactly in the comfort zone, making small talk with Nikita following her abrupt disappearance along with the obvious tension the young huntress was battling within herself, exchanging with another somewhat isolated, complex being was nothing short of easy. Nodding her head in retaliation to all Nikita had spoken right then and there, the French architect slash werewolf had no qualms with agreeing to her statements. Well, silently agreeing, that is. In all frankness, Jacqueline found resenting Nikita in regards to her temporary departure a difficult task, primarily because the teenager reminded her of herself. Not only that, but the other reason being because the last thing she needed was to get scolded at. No, the other female certainly wasn’t a China doll, she didn’t have the words ‘treat with care’ printed on a particular area of her body, nor was she your ordinary damsel in distress, she had absolutely no problem with giving as much as she received. Though the issue was, for what reason exactly would Jacqueline badger her about? Their last interaction, she had came off as more secluded than she currently was, her walls remaining up, but not as sturdy. Now, mentioned walls were undergoing the process of gradually disintegrating and its ashes collapsing to the ground. Solemnly offering Nikita a small, sad smile, she did all but murmured about how it was acceptable to succumb a fraction to feeling, to allow her guard down for a short while, but instead, all that came out was this, “I’m sure most of us are sticking to that tactic, not much of any other choice.”
For a while, she had the vain thought that the tension could be ignored. That Nikita could just have a conversation with someone she knew and not hear the slight inflection of disappointment. Seeing a sad smile was the worst. "If you're mad at me, be angry. If you have something to say, just say it. Everyone else has. Despite Artemis's words, it never really struck her until she left. Everyone acted like she had abandoned them. In her mind, Nikita did enough. With Artemis' other heroes, a note was all that was needed. Not some long drawn out explanation. She didn't have to talk about her feelings or her actions or explain herself. Nikita had never had to explain herself, not even to her father. Having people now who cared deeply for her, who seemed to fall apart with out her, maybe she was the glue. That was a scary thought. That she had to hold people together and stick around. Permanence was something she hdn't had in year. Artemis was forever moving her around, sending her somewhere else once she was done. For once, Nikita wanted to stay. She wanted to make roots and plant herself within the ground and grow and spread and have life. Family and friends and people like Jacqueline that she liked, loved, just feel connected to and all of that meant something. She didn't want to lose it. The teen was always terrified that she would end up alone, and now she wasn't and her hands were desperately grasping at gossamer strings that kept everything together and with her. "I'm sorry. If I hurt you if I upset you, if I worried you for that, I am sorry."

…I’m n-not pretending. I wanted to come by to…talk to you. If that is all right with you after all.
"Did you get some kind of brain transpalnt? You hate me and my friends. And I'm not particularly fond of you so what the hell could you possibly want to swing by my flat and talk about?"
drinking from the bottle || HELEN + NIKITA
rightfulguardian-helen:
"A game?", she asked, raising an eyebrow as she grabbed the bottle. "Did you know that I’m pretty bad at pretty much every game? So I don’t know if playing a drinking game is really the smartest thing I can do — but then again, planning to get wasted isn’t the smartest idea either, right?" She smiled a little as she looked down to the bottle. Helen was quite sure that her Nana and Daphne would freak out if they would know what Helen was about to do — maybe even Adrian and Jason would be a little upset too. The blonde though didn’t really care about that right now, especially not since she thought that this would be the only time she would ever drink alcohol. "Well, that definitely sounds easy — though I’m a little wary about the ‘you say something that’s on your mind’-part." Yes, Helen wanted to talk but at the same time she wasn’t so sure about it. After all, Nikita didn’t know what Helen was and not only that, the blonde didn’t know if Nikita knew about this whole stuff that’s been going on in this town. Of course Helen knew that Callie, Allison and Nikita got attacked by Mara once, but the blonde didn’t really think that Mara wolved out on them — mostly because she didn’t even dare to waste a thought about the werewolf who almost killed her. Anyway, the teenager got pulled out of her thoughts as Nikita handed her one of the cups. "Um…cheers", she replied with a smile before taking a sip from her drink — it really didn’t taste bad at all, but her throat burned slightly which caused Helen to cough a little.
"Yes, Helen, a game." Nikita laugh, waving off any other words that Helen said because she really couldn't be bad at such a simple game. Honestly, Nikita didn't want to talk. People said that it would be good for her. It was a release, but for someone so used to bottling everything in the idea of letting everything out was hard. Even the small amount that she did let out and tell people was hard enough efore Nikita got the best of herself and bottled everything back up. Whatever she showed was only the tip of the iceberg and for some reason, she was okay with that. It hurt inside. It ate away at her. So many twisted and gnarled and ugly feelings lay within her that could easily be solved if she just had help, but instead she pushed back her shot and enjoyed the warmth and the burn. "Don't feel pressured or anything, dude. Do you want to start? So you feel more comfortable?"

Woken up like an animal: teeth ready for sinking. My mind's lost in bleak visions. I've tried to escape, but I keep sinking. Woken up like an animal: I'm all ready for healing. My mind's lost with nightmares streaming. Woken up kicking and screaming. Take me out of this place I'm in. Break me out of this shell-like case I'm in. Underneath this skin there's a human. Buried deep within there's a human. And despite everything I'm still human... I think that I'm still human. - Daughter, Human
“I don’t want to.” Her voice shook as she stared down the wooden stairs that led to the basement. “Please.” At seventeen, she still didn’t understand why this always happened. Her father’s hand weighed heavy on her shoulder and the long sigh her released made gooseflesh rise on the back of her neck. He never explained and she always forgot. It was always just one night then it was over. Her body reacted violently and his hand on her shoulder tightened. “Dad please.”
“You know you have to, sweetheart. You always have to. I can’t keep you out here. You’re dangerous.” That was always as far as he went. She was dangerous. She lost control. She wasn’t to be trusted alone when she got like this. His hand gave a gentle shove and Nikita walked down the stairs. Numbness took over the farther down she went. The basement was dank, dreary. They never used it. The only time she ever saw it was once a month. This time of the month. Once a month for seventeen years and she still didn’t know why.
Not a lot apparently the nice people finish last, didn’t you know?
It takes a little more then that.
"I don't really think it matters if you finish first or last as long as you finish. What, you think you're going to finish last? I can guarantee you that I won't finish first in a race."
"I guess that's comforting? Actually yeah. That is a little comforting."
drinking from the bottle || HELEN + NIKITA
Truth be told, Helen was really surprised about her plans for tonight. She had never drunk any alcohol before, except from maybe a sip of beer a couple of months ago and it tasted horrible, and she hadn’t really planned to change that anytime soon — yet she had agreed to get drunk with Nikita without thinking about it twice. Why was that? Maybe because a lot has happened in the past couple of weeks and some people claimed that alcohol helps you to forget about all the shit you’re going through? And quite frankly, Helen would love to forget about her vampire sister and everything else for a little while. And Nikita seemed like the perfect company for that — not only because her friend looked like she was in desperate need of a little break too, but also because Helen was quite sure that she wouldn’t make her stop drinking after a while like Ash or John would do. So here she was, standing in front of Nikita’s apartment, taking in a deep breathe before she eventually stepped inside. “No, I didn’t know that”, she answered with a little smile after she closed the door. “But that’s probably because I don’t know anything about alcohol, except that I’m actually not allowed to drink it yet and that I’m probably gonna regret drinking it tomorrow morning — but like I said, I really don’t care today.” She sat down on the couch, her eyes fixed on the bottle. “Even though it tastes like sprite, the alcohol’s still working, right?….and that was probably a very stupid question right now..”
Chuckling lowly, Nikita stepped forth till she reached the couch, flopping onto the other side with the bottle still in hand. "It will definitely still work, Helen. Just babysit this for a second and I'll go get glasses and a deck. We're going to play a sort of game." Helen wanted to talk and Nikita wanted to get drink. The petite brunette pushed herself up and returned to the kitchen rifling through drawers in search of a playing deck that she knew she had. Finally producing it from behind piles of silverware, NIkita grabbed two cups off of the counter and rejoined her friend in the sitting room. "So, it's easy. You fill the cup as much as you want and guess a card colour. Black or red. If you're right, you don't have to drink, if you're wrong, you have to drink. But you also have to say something that's on your mind, or really just anything. It'll probably get easier the drunker we are." As she spoke Nikita uncapped the bottle and poured into each cup before handing one to Helen. "A shot to ss off. Cheers."

drinking from the bottle || HELEN + NIKITA
Nikita had said wine, but she needed something stronger. Unsurprising was that Helen Leventis wanted to drink with her. NIkita liked the dizzy dreamer, they had a lot in common from the things they'd spoken about, but they weren't close. She'd consider Helen a friend. Thinking back, Nik realised that she had a lot of friends here. She had family here so why was she so stuck on things that had happened in her hometown? those people wheren't who she cared about. Maybe it was hearing that her father hid her mother's identity from her, or maybe it was finding out how he died or having some girl tell her that she'd loved her that had Nikita's head in a mess. She wanted to forget it all and what better way to do that than on the fourth of July with alcohol and a fireworks show to end the night. Hearing the door open, the brunette turned bottle in hand, with a smile. "You were very correct in assuming this was not wine, but don't worry, I'll start you off with something light. Did you know that if you let soda and alcohol sit for about a week in the fridge, the soda completely overpowers the taste of the alcohol? This is pretty much eighty percent alcohol and it tastes like sprite."
Sounds great! Lemme just drop off something at home first and then I’ll stop by at your place?
"Aces. I'll break out two guys you will definitely become great friends with: José and Jack."
I did, yes. I’m learning something new which is why I’m sore…
"Okay. I believe you."

…you know what? that sounds actually like a pretty good idea. We should really do that.
"Awesome. Let's do it then. What better night than tonight?"
Oh okay — but if you wanna talk, I’m here, okay? I’m a very good listener and since the past couple of weeks have been a little off for me too, I sorta know that feeling.
"Thanks, Helen. I'll keep it in mind. Maybe I'll crack open a bottle and we can drown our sorrows in wine and forget the other said anything in the morning."
