it's the best summary i've found of everything i love about orv,,, honestly the manwha is gorgeous but there are definitely some things lost, and i really recommend the novel which is probably one of my favorite things i've ever read

for translation of the novel, you have 3 options:

- first, as far as official translation goes: there are currently 3 volumes of the novel out in english so far (with the 4th coming out in a few days i think). they release a new volume every 4 months or so (orv is really long and only a fraction of the story is out, volume 3 ends at chapter 72 out of 551)

- there's a fan translated epub floating around, which is a bit rough (because mtl) but it's the only fully completed translation that exists atm and the way most people have read it

- and finally there's a retranslation project by fans currently in progress (@orvretranslationproject), which is less localized than the official translation (to keep the tone closer to the original) but flows much better than the mtl, and has 7 volumes out so far (at chapter 165 out of 551)

But it has some fun elements like the magical girl team has a magical BOY who’s a sharpshooter.

Also the main protagonist has a sibling bond with Shade, a fiend creatures usually Magical Girls fight, but he’s been protecting her since she was little and see she’s him like a little brother

It has:

- Angel Fudoshi

- Stronk womans

- Author & Reader duo (much like Cumplane)

- “I AM NOT INTO MEN” proclaims the man who has a supposed Partner of “Life and Death”

“IM NOT A MAN” the interested party yells in response

- Although the Manwha doesn’t show it, there’s a really cool concept of Kim Dokja (the main protagonist) having his face blurred out/censored for the other characters

- It’s a book about a book, but in this case it’s a comic about at a book

- Shen Yuan and Kim Dokja if they faced off on the internet battlefield, their keyboard warrioring would be LEGENDARY

- Luo Binghe and Yoo Joonghyuk might look like they would battle using like their fighting skills but it’s more likely they’d have a cooking battle instead

- In the Manwha, there’s a minor character called Micchi who looks EXACTLY LIKE fandom SHEN YUAN it’s crazy

- Mental gymnastics

Thanks for the recs! You must read a good breadth, a lot of these I've never even heard of! I've heard of Omniscient Reader Viewpoint (though I'm gonna be honest I thought that one was danmei?? maybe just cause one of the danmei blogs I follow talk about it or something idk where I got that from), Dr Stone, and Go For it Nakamura-Kun... but that one admittedly only in a "wait that's where that meme is from??" way xD

I have watched a bit of One Punch Man back when it was new, it made me laugh. And The Summer Hikaru Died is great. Have you tried reading the light novel? The manga is good, but honestly it's the light novel that has me by the throat, the use of descriptive language in it is amazing and disgusting and goes beyond what you can get just with visuals, can't recommend it enough!

Thank you! I can't say I was surprised by how that plotline wrapped up but I love the idea of Mu Tianchi getting to learn sign language so much more ;^; it will forever be my personal headcanon for the end of the series, they can't take it from me! As for other disabled danmei protags...
