“Y/N, I know you probably can’t hear me or you probably won’t remember what I’ve said if and when you come out of your coma, but I want you to know that I will never leave your side again.  I’ve made mistakes due to unforeseen circumstances, but I promise to always be there for you, to love you always, through thick and thin.  Loving you has opened a door to a world that I’ve never known. Loving you has shown me what it feels like to love someone unconditionally, and for that unconditional love to be reciprocated.  I need you in my life, Y/N.  Please come back to me.  I can’t live without you.  I love you so much, more than anything on this earth, in this world.  I want nothing more than to make you my wife when you come back to me.”   Ben meant every word of what he just said to you. He was head over heels in love with you and wanted to marry you at this second.  But first, he needed you to recover.  Ben was so worried about you that he even said a prayer aloud.  He wasn’t usually the one to pray, but he was so desperate and needed any miracle to bring you back.

Jackie and your family arrived safely to Queensland the next day.  After many months of hearing about Ben and your obstacles, it was strange for Jackie to finally see him in person.  The moment when Ben made that phone call about your condition, Jackie could hear all the love he had for you extenuating from his voice.  She didn’t want to pry, but right then and there Jackie knew that things were over with him and Tamia since he never left your side.

After twenty-four hours, Ben was still by your side.  He never wanted to leave you, not even to take a shower or to eat. During your coma, you had very clear and vivid dreams of your future with Ben, seeing all 7 signs that you encountered on your short journey together.  The first sign when you saw him on television as Prince Caspian and fell madly in love with him before you truly knew what it meant to love someone; the second sign when you heard Ben singing “I'll see you again” in Jackie’s car on your way to the airport; the third sign when Ben opened a fortune cookie during your girls’ night with Tamia that read: “Love is right around the corner”; the fourth sign when you and Ben had your first date at Noosa National Park where you met Poomie and Bindi; the fifth sign when the Corella bird flew away on set; the sixth sign when you saw the pregnant woman in the magazine, and the seventh sign when you saw Shakespeare in your dream telling to you chase your own fire before it burns out.  All these of signs were so clear to you and you knew in your heart that you were meant to be with Ben.  You just had to fight hard to come out of your coma.

After another twelve hours of you being in the same condition, Ben began to lose hope and finally took a break to think.  He excused himself from the hospital room and took a walk outside.  By now it was nightfall and the sun had just set over the horizon. Ben thought about your first date and your first sunset together.  That was one of the happiest moments of his life, sharing a sunset with the woman he loved. As the night grew older and as each second passed, Ben’s worry over your condition only intensified.  It was a crystal clear night and it looked like every star in the sky was present.

The eight sign

The feeling of losing you was just too overwhelming for Ben.  After he spent many hours and days crying and seeking answers for your recovery, Ben felt another overwhelming sensation take over his mind.  He dropped down to his knees in the open grass area outside of Nambour Emergency Hospital, the stars and moon shining bright upon his slender frame. Tears fell from his glistening dark orbs and rolled down his high cheek bones.  Before Ben could get into a deep weeping moment, something in the beautiful night sky caught his attention.  There was a star glistening so bright, which made a sudden fall. Although Ben’s mother Tricia was a strong believer in astrology and the spiritual meaning behind a shooting star, Ben never believed in making wishes, but he knew that seeing a shooting star meant that there is going to be a big change in his or someone’s life. A shooting star meant that a life changing event is on the way, and that he should get prepared.

Ben glanced intensely at the gleaming star as it shimmered from the sky.  Ben closed his eyes and made a wish, a wish for you to come out of your coma and for you to have a long and healthy life with him, forever.

Star light, star bright, The first star I see tonight; I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight.

As the shooting star made its way to down from the clear night sky, a huge glow beamed across the sky.  The glow was so powerful that it caught the attention of all bystanders. 

Ben wiped his tears away and smiled into the universe, also thanking God.  He knew at that very moment that you would be ok.  Without wasting another second, Ben darted through the hospital lawn and dashed through the doors, sprinting down the hallways to your room as quickly as he could, slowing down his run as he approached your room slowly.  As he made his way into your room, Ben saw the nurses, your family and the Dr. Grawal surrounding you.  But it wasn’t a scary feeling, it was a feeling of peace. Ben pushed his way through the crowd, dropping down to his knees as he held your frail hand gently.  He placed your hand to his red lips and closed his eyes, praying one last time that you would come back to him.  Within seconds, you blink your eyes, seeing haze in front of you.  Everyone gasps as you open your eyes slowly, so excited to see you waking up.

“Everyone stand back.  Let’s give Ms. Y/L/N a chance to breathe and catch her site.” Dr. Grawal advices.

Ben has the happiest and most relieved look on his face, with tears of joy rolling down his bearded cheeks.  Jackie and your parents cry as they see you opening your eyes. 

“Y/N, my love.  You’ve came back to me.  I am eternally grateful for everyone who saved your life.” Ben says, hugging you so tightly while you were still coming into reality.

“I love you so much.” Ben says to you in a passionate whisper, kissing your forehead and hugging you tightly.

You smile, still dazed but aware of your surroundings.  You were so happy and relieved to see Ben and your family next to you.  You could barely speak, but you somehow managed to get those three words out that meant so much to you.

“I love you too, Ben.”

Although you vaguely remember visually seeing everyone that came to visit you, there were a few conversations that you remembered hearing, especially a very important one that Ben said to you just hours upon you waking up.  You wanted to talk to Ben about what he said to you at that very moment, but you wanted to wait until you were fully recovered to discuss the most important topic of your life.

After about a week of recovering, you were able to return back to work on set.  At this point, everyone knew that you were Ben’s girlfriend.  He didn’t have to ask you and you didn’t need to make it official with him.  You loved each other and nothing else mattered to you.  But Ben wanted more.  He planned a special outing for just the two of you.  Since you weren’t in Australia as long as he was, Ben wanted to surprise you with something special before you left Queensland. 

After the third beard brushing session of the day, Ben was ready to call it quits to meet with you.  He had been nervous and thinking of how he would surprise you all day long. 

“Alright, that’s a wrap for today.  We’ll continue shooting the scene of Aslan’s world tomorrow.” Michael directs, with you along his side.  It was your dream to return to work.  You missed looking into the camera and writing the scenes as assistant producer so much.  Thankfully, Michael kept your position open and welcomed you back with open arms.

You catch Ben staring at you from a distance on set.  He smiles and passes you a wink that sends shivers down your spine.  He always knew how to make you feel so loved.  Without being able to stand away from you for another second, Ben approaches you and throws you into his arms, looking at you passionately.

“I missed you so much today, Y/N.” Ben says, pecking your lips softly.

You smile as you embrace the warm peck of his lips.

“I missed you too, babe, although you’ve been in my sight all day long.”

“I still missed you.” Ben winks, gazing at you lovingly as he smiles.

“Are you ready to get out of here?”

You smile.

“I’m ready when you are my love.”

“Great, because I have something very special planned for just the two of us.”

You blush.  You loved when Ben surprised you.

“But, I have to blind fold you until we reach our destination.”

You smirk.

“What are you up to, Barnes?” You tease.

Ben places the blind fold on your head and over your eyes.

“Now if I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise, would it?”

You smile. 

“Ok, you got me.  Lead the way.”

Ben grabs hold of your hand, bending down to kiss it before leading you to his Bentley.  He drove you to the same place where you had your first date, to the beach near Noosa National Park where you first met Poomie and Bindi.  It was a beautiful cool night in Queensland, with a perfect panoramic view of a golden sunset.

You had no idea where you were, but the fresh smells of the mountain dew and beaches seemed very familiar to you.

Ben leads you out of the car, you both giggling as he helped you step over a few rocks on the hill.

“Are you ready for your surprise, babe?” Ben asks you in excitement.

Your heart is pounding from the excitement.

“Yes...” You say with a large smile on your face.

Ben takes the blind fold off, and there stood a helicopter for just the two of you.

Your jaw drops in excitement.

“OH MY GOD! BEN!! We’re doing a helicopter ride, and over our favorite place?”

Ben smiles.

“You got it.”

“But who’s gonna fly this thing?”

“Let’s just say I’ve flown a helicopter or two in my life.”

“You never cease to amaze me, Barnes.”

Ben leads you to the helicopter, your arms wrapped so tightly in his. 

You could hardly believe this was happening, that your boyfriend, Ben Barnes planned such a romantic evening.  But then again you could believe it because he was just that wonderful. 

Ben gets situated in the pilot seat of the helicopter, after first making sure that you were snug and secure.

Ben places the head gear on to communicate with the air traffic controllers.

“You’ve been cleared for take-off Mr. Barnes.” The air traffic controller says over the loud speaker.

Ben holds your hand and smiles.

“Ready for the ride of your life, babe?”

Your heart is pounding, but you nod and smile happily.

Ben pulls the main lever of the helicopter, and off you both go.  You felt yourself slowly lifting as the helicopter made its way to the sky, overlooking the beautiful ocean below and all of Queensland.

The views from the sky were nothing short of amazing.  You wrap yourself into Ben as he flies the helicopter like a pro. 

Although you didn’t want to startle Ben while he was flying the helicopter, you wanted to ask him a question from what you heard him say during your coma.

“Ben, I have something to ask you.” You say, sounding somewhat serious.

Ben looks at you nervously, not sure what was on your mind.

“Sure, what’s up?”

“When I was in my coma, I heard many conversations, but I only remember a few…….yours being the one that I remember most before I woke up.   You said some very touching things to me…..things that may change my life forever.  I am just curious….did you mean everything that you said to me?”

You couldn't help but smile.

Ben smiles excitedly too. 

“I meant every word of it.” Ben says. 

"So what do you say, my love?"

Ben points below, flying slowly over the same beach where you had your first date, filled with thousands of pink desert rose bicolour flowers that read: “Y/N, will you marry me?” 

You cover your mouth in excitement, tears of happiness falling down your rosy cheeks. 

Ben opens a tiny box gently, while still managing to fly the helicopter.

You are just so overjoyed that you can hardly stand it.  You never expected Ben to propose to you so soon, but you loved each other so much and knew that you were made for one another.

“What do you say, my love……please….say something…” Ben says nervously.

“YES!!! OH MY GOD, YEESSSS!!!!” You say excitedly in your sweet voice.  “I’m ALL yours Ben, always and forever.  I love you so much.”

Ben’s hands shake as he places a beautiful eight carat sapphire, accented by two triangular-cut diamonds on your delicate finger.  The ring is absolutely exquisite, called the Queensland ring.  This ring will always hold special memories for you and Ben, because it represents the place where you first met, fell in love, and became engaged.

The ring was a perfect fit.  Ben cups your face, caressing your jawline with his thumb.

“You’ve made me the happiest man in the universe, Y/N.  I love you more than life itself."

Ben leans in closer to you and plants you a soft passionate kiss.  His tongue moves slowly over yours and around your corridors so deeply.  The kiss is extremely intense, causing you to let out a soft moan.  You both realize where you are and began to giggle.  For a second, you both forget that you were flying in a helicopter from the natural high that you were on.  Receiving a marriage proposal and becoming engaged to Ben was the best surprise of your life. There was nothing more that you wanted than to become Mrs. Barnes forever.

Three years later in Los Angeles, CA

“CUT!” You shout as you get up from your executive producer/owner chair.

“Let’s take that scene again, only this time, I want more passion.  I need you guys to give it ALL you’ve got."

You stand from your chair, waddling as you grab hold of your growing belly.

“Let me help you, Mrs. Barnes, we don’t want you tripping over any items on set.” A producer says to you as you stand, barely able to see the ground in front of you.

You smile.

“Thank you, David.”

Ben comes to your rescue, along with Jackie who was holding the hands of twin toddlers, a boy and a girl.

“Mommy, mommy!” The toddlers roar in excitement as they throw themselves into your arms.

“Hi babies!  Oooh…I’ve missed you both so much Poomie and Bindi!” You cry as you kiss your toddler twins on their cheeks.

Ben approaches you, kissing you softly and rubbing your belly.

“I think it’s time for a break, young lady.” Ben teases, although he was very serious.

“Tell her Ben, otherwise, she’ll keep working and the next thing you know she’ll be delivering this poor baby on set.” Jackie teases.

“Hey..hey…is that any way to talk to your boss?” You say jokingly to your best friend.

Ben and Jackie chuckle.  Your parents also came to support your first movie production as an executive producer and the grand opening of your new studio, Barnes Productions.  Having your parents present for this spectacular event meant the world to you, especially now that your father finally supported the career and dream of your choice.

Your father approaches you, and you knew by the look on his face that it was something important.

“Jack, can you please take over for a few minutes?”

“Yes, of course.  I got this.” Jackie reassures you. 

You walk away with your father to the break room and he gets you water.  He pours himself a cup of coffee as he sits next to you. 

“Y/N, darling, I just want you to know that I am so proud of you.  I know that I have been hard on you your entire life, but I did that so that you would not experience the same financial struggles that your mother and I faced as a young married couple.  I pushed you to work at my law firm because I wanted you to have a solid financial future.  But I see now that you made the perfect choice of a career for yourself, and you have built something far greater than I could have ever imagined.”

You began to tear up hearing these words that you’ve waited for your dad to say your entire life.

“Y/N, I was wrong and I apologize sincerely if I’ve ever made you feel that your dreams didn’t matter, because they do and I am so proud of you for standing by your dreams.”

You smile as you reach over and hug your father tightly.

“I love you, daddy.” You say, sobbing into his shoulder.

“I love you too, darling.”  Your dad kisses your forehead and hugs you tightly.

You both walk back to the set and Ben already knew what your father wanted to discuss by the happy and relieved look on your face.   He embraces you and whispers lovingly in your ear.

“I’m so proud of you, my love.  You’ve followed your dreams and your heart, which helped me in making my own dreams come true as well.”

“I love you too, Ben.  Without your encouragement, we would have never been able to open our own production studio.”

Ben smiles.

“It’s all you, babe.  This is all because of your dream.”

Ben winks at you.

“And, I don’t mind working for my wife, as long as you treat me fairly.” Ben says with another wink.

You wink back.

“Not even if I give you special perks?”

“That’s why we have two babies and one on the way.” Ben giggles.

“TMI you two, TMI.” Jackie says, shaking her head.

You and Ben laugh and exchange a kiss.

“Alright everyone, let’s get ready to greet our community with the grand opening of our new studio!” You say in excitement.

“Are you all ready?” Ben asks, looking around at everyone on set.

The crowd cheers and everyone walks outside for the ribbon cutting.

Ben assists you while holding the large scissors.  You both could not believe what a large crowd you had waiting for you outside of the studio.  It was amazing and so surreal.
