First of all, I want to say that I really enjoyed the way the actors embraced their characters. The cast was perfect and I will forever cherish their portrayal of the characters, as they've completely overwritten the versions I created for myself from the books. (Except for Gabrielle, see below)

BUT I FUCKING HATE HATE HATE THE CIGARETTE AND SMOKING LOBBY I quit the final episode. I'm not going to watch it. I hate it. Lestat smoking? Offering a smoke? WTF how is this relevant? It's such a blatant lobby-move and it's one that has ruined more movies and series for me the past years than actual bad writing. So no. Fuck you. I will not endorse this. Thumbs down on every platform.

Gabrielle. I felt so connected to Gabrielle in the book. She cut of her hair, put on men's clothes, and fucked off to live the good life of an explorer and adventurer. I always saw her as, well, if not an enby, than at least a woman who was loathe to conform to gender stereotypes.

The series butchered this. I don't think fucking your mom and going Oedipus is controversial; I think that omitting Gabrielle's potential to be a non-binary character is criminal.
