Last night I finally got see #thatbloodywoman, the phenomenal Kiwi punk rock version of #hamiltonmusical about our Kiwi $10 founding female who started her own kind of revolution. It centres around Kate Sheppard, the suffragette movement, and New Zealand making history and becoming the first country in the world to give women the right to vote. It is breathtaking, clever, poignant, and completely relevant to the world as we know it. The vocals are staggering. The performers bring the late 1800s crashing into the 21st century, bring history to life with a roar and resounding feminist cry. It is well worth seeing. If you ever get the chance, this musical is not to be missed! (at Taranaki Arts Festival)
