'I work for an advertisement company here, in Beijing. My dream is to be a drama actor. Being a drama actress is only a dream I haven’t done anything practical to enter that industry. So, me working in the advertising industry is not trying to earn to go to drama school. I became interested in acting and theatre in university because I joined a group but in China it is very difficult for someone who is not in that major to change their major to acting. So, my main job is still working for the advertising company I use that money to make a living but, in my spare time I will join some acting/drama activities.

The reason why I’m pursuing acting because I think it is something very simple. When I say simple by this I mean that when you’re acting you need to focus only on one thing and don not have to think that much. One thing that differentiates theatre from movies and TV shows is that the atmosphere or the influence they have on site can be very profound and deep.

I have considered that before but I’m worried that if I don’t succeed as an actress I might lose what I already have right now and that’s everything so I think it’s still because I lack confidence in myself.

The salary, the position I already have in my job because in China it is very difficult for someone to give up a job that pays to enter something new and especially I might not make any money when I begin this so they might think I’m just wasting my time.

In China what other people think about you is very important especially your relatives, your family, your friends the people around you. It should be very different in UK.

Erm, no I don’t think we are living in peace humans are killing each other for no reason and that’s not what peace is. Peace is getting along with everyone and no matter what. What they do what they look like wars in Syria people are just killing each other for no reason – no there’s no peace.

I don’t think we can ever solve it unless it’s the people if they change. People change their politics and stop voting for idiots and maybe we’ll have a chance of there being peace.

I wouldn’t say it’s peace because there are gangs and guns that’s not peace. Peace is being able to walk outside your house and not being scared. Knowing no one is going to shoot you, it’s like not being stressed over like someone trying to kill you or something like that. So no, it’s not very peaceful in Nottingham. I don’t think it’s peaceful anywhere in the world – I don’t know any country that I could actually say I feel peace.

Where do you go to feel peace?

I would say my own bedroom, I just go into my bedroom and prefer nobody there just me myself just watch something or pray that’s peace to me. Or go for a nice walk even though there is people there this might sound stupid but music in my ears.

Don’t act like people who don’t know what peace is so like be kind, be nice don’t look at someone’s skin colour, or religion or anything they can’t change.

I feel everywhere we go there is people always judging you and all that wherever you go depends on who you hang around with as well you’re going to have to change your group sometimes because you realise their not the right people if you want peace you can’t get it from other people you have to find it within yourself as well.

What would you change?

''Peace to me means unity and togetherness.

No, I don't think in this country there is much peace even though it's meant to be peaceful. there's not much peace because everyone is segregated into their own groups. in my country, Turks Caicos islands, no one really separates themselves from each other in a sense you don't really have segregated groups like lgbt groups, muslim groups, christian groups there's just one.

I think there is a sense of letting go of discrimination because we are one, we are all humans, we are no different yeah we may be different colours, shape and sizes. But we are one, we are one of the same. It's not like i'm human and your not a human because your not like me. its not like human vs animal it's human vs human.'

Why is there not peace?

'For many reasons like racism, some people might be stuck in the past while their mind isn't open to the things now. in a sense as things are changing and the times are changing maybe things that weren't as open back then is open now, for instance lgbt. People used to cover it back then but now it's open now - what you gonna do kill them because that is their way of life, No just accept it - if you don't like it don't speak about it. But, in a sense you are going to have to accept it because humans we are the same we are one maybe you might do something differently but you are the same to me.

To an extent, like for instance in work some people might look at someone differently because they might be a certain religion but why are you looking at that person like that they're human as well not because they don't look the same way that you do because in this world there is not one way of living there's many ways of living. They may not look the same way you do - they might not dress the same way you do but no need to judge. If someone says something anything discriminatory I always talk against it - mind your business, if you don't know the first look about it you should speak positive things not negative things.

People have different cultures different beliefs obviously i'm coming from a christian perspective but erm, people need to change their mindsets, the way they view the world, the way they live their priorities - basically they need to change their lives.

Beginning tomorrow, I’ll be taking a 30 day trip in partnership with the United Nations, supported by World Merit an organization fighting complex global issues by building confidence, raising aspiration and connecting young diverse citizens of merit. I’ll be posting portraits and stories from the trip on the blog. We’re calling it a ‘Peace Tour,’ having been selected to represent SDG 16 for the United Kingdom at WorldMerit360, a program bringing 360 young global citizens from all over the world together to develop an action plan to tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The action plan will be presented at the Houses of Parliament in London to afterwards be implemented collaboratively across the world to make positive change. The point of the trip is not to define what 'peace' is. But rather exploring the multiple perspectives and paths to peace.

''3 years ago I used to be a fashion designer in clothing design. Then I began to believe in Tibetan Buddhism so, I began to design jewelry like necklaces and bracelets.

Originally it wasn't just a painting gallery because it was also my workshop, I would do fashion design for some actors and actresses and I would also do personal image design.

This is the first gold jewel that I’ve designed and made. The upper part is made of peony the national flower of china. It represents good fortune, wealth and power. The other part is a kind of fruit representing fortune and good luck.

I like Beijing opera and culture. I used to sing it at university and they had these kind of decorations on masks. So, I continued to do it on my own.

Even though there are very very few people actually making these anymore I feel there is a certain responsibility for me to preserve this sort of art.

I graduated last year...My main work right now is to preserve some of the lost techniques of making them and I focus on my designs right now... I want to read a Masters degree in jewelry design
