here for a good time, not a long time

"i think they're both fine," he says, shrugging a little and he's never really pre-planned his ending fairies but maybe it's something he should start doing. they've been promoting for a little bit now and he thinks their new song is a fun one to perform and he hopes that the fans are also enjoying it. he thinks for a moment, remembering the poses that noel had done and he lets out a hum. "the puppy dog ears are probably something you could add to the first pose?" haneul suggests, never one to back away from doing too much because when would they ever have the chance to do so again aside from their early days when people would just brush it aside as rookie things. "i think you should do more than just smile though, for sure."

noel is honestly happy he didn’t debut as a solo artist. the nervousness he had in him slowly fades as he talks with haneul, the other being a great distraction. having had the vybe members join him on this journey of being a new idol has been nice, they’re learning together, and helping each other learn. they’re there when he needs them, whether it’s with singing practice or simply what ending fairy pose he should do.

he wonders if fan translators online have chosen specific emoticons for them yet. maybe he should look it up later.

for some reason, noel couldn’t help but remain nervous whenever they were backstage for music shows. he figured when they debuted he was so nervous because it all was new, now he had tried it and was still nervous. he couldn’t understand why, why he fiddled with the end of his shirt, why his heart beat a little faster. he was enjoying being an idol though, and he figured, eventually he wouldn’t be nervous before going out to perform on music shows.

perhaps their pleas were heard: vybe is getting more ‘01 liner content! luciel wonders if making those hints about getting more 01 content would make the fans happy, or if it’s a coincidence — in any case, him and haneul were going to showcase ‘lucky to be loved’ together. this would be their first time showcasing a song as a duo. naturally, they practiced together for this, making sure things flow smoothly for the both of them. but since it’s already a song they’ve been learning for a while, it didn’t take too long.

after their group showcases, and then then the individual ones, their turn was next. after that it’s another group song to end the show. there’s some talking segments in between but it’s a relatively simple list. before their turn, luciel nudges haneul, whispering, “hwaiting?” not forgetting he’s still in front of an audience, he keeps up his smile, clapping along with the rest of the crowd when siwoo’s turn ends.

they had practiced together too, and he had enjoyed working with luciel. it probably has nothing to do with them being the same age, but he likes to think that maybe there was something in the 01 line waters. or something like that.

"hwaiting!" he answers easily, voice soft as to not be picked up by the microphones and wanting to show that he was ready too. he's sure some of the fans are watching them, even if they're mostly paying attention to the park bogum introducing them.

he's sure the fans will enjoy this. he already can't wait for the reactions

when he hasn't been getting his own photos taken, he's definitely kept an eye on the other members to see how they are doing. maybe it's because he's the oldest but he enjoys keeping tabs on everyone in some way. it eases his mind plus he does love seeing how well each photo has come out

when doing his own he makes sure to pose as he told but upon hearing hanuel speak, he has to hold back laughing. he does as the other requests, holding back the smile that wants to show on his lips. he knows he lets his best friend get away with anything so this wasn't any different to him. if anything he was amused the whole time.

either way, he's been enjoying monitoring the other vybe members' photoshoots even if he hasn't been as actively commenting on them.

"i meaaaaaaan, i won't say no," haneul says playfully, though he's already always around everyone else when they're doing their solo shoots. it's just fun to see what the other members do and try to adapt things he doesn't already do to his own photoshoots.

he takes one look in the mirror, fixing his hair if there was any strange loose hairs flying around and checking if his makeup still looks decent after all that sweat — which yes, it still looked good. thanks to the makeup professionals for that! “that’s true~ let’s show off 01 line more,” luciel says with a laugh. “i wonder if they’ll actually post it later…? otherwise i’ll convince our manager a lot.” it’s not all the time the pictures gets posted.

quietly reaching up to fix his hair a little, adjusting his bangs so they'll look optimal in their selca(s) together, haneul grins at his friend and grabs some tissues to blot the sweat off of his forehead. "we have to! i haven't checked online to see what's popular within the group but i personally think we need to push the 01 line more," he says with mock seriousness, nodding grimly.

"i think they should?" he says, unsure actually because he hasn't really been keeping track of what has been posted and what hasn't so far. he probably should check online and see if their fans are happy with the content they've been given so far.

being in school uniforms again is something he hadn't expected to be doing after he had graduated high school, though haneul guesses he should've expected it considering how many shows have that sort of concept. and also how the fans always eat it up. he might've spent too much time monitoring online, looking at what fans said and how they reacted to things. also, lurking the fanartist tags and seeing what people wanted from them. school uniforms was relatively high on the list, of things they could do without too many special effects or makeup needed. and who didn't love a high school au?

when they're given a break from the filming, haneul grabs two banana milks and offers one to noel whom he finds resting a little. he pokes the straw through the foil lid and takes a long sip, letting out a loud, satisfied sound. one probably related more to drinking a shot of soju or a long sip of beer than banana milk. but that's neither here nor there. "this feels really nostalgic," he comments, looking pleased with the familiar taste of banana milk. "i never thought i would be in my twenties, drinking banana milk in a school uniform but i understand why people do it now," he says, trailing off in amusement. "for some reason wearing the uniform makes me want to go to an amusement park."

it’d honestly initially felt a bit weird to put on a school uniform, noel hadn’t worn one for ages. he saw some fanart online of vybe drawn with high school uniforms, so he’s saying ‘congratulations’ in his mind to that specific fan. noel usually isn’t the selfie type, but after putting the school uniform he’s taken a million selfies, from every angle and even a couple of mirror selfies.

he’s sitting down as he’s scrolling through his camera roll, admiring the selfies, which does make him feel like he’s obsessed with himself, and he swears he’s not, it’s just so rarely he ever wants to take selfies. 

he looks up when haneul approaches, turning off his phone and happily accepting the banana milk. “it sure does” he nods before taking a sip “besides for kian it’s been ages for majority of us to have last worn school uniforms”. “i also haven’t been to an amusement park in ages”.

"maybe the next time we have some time off, we can rally the other members and all do a trip to lotte world under cover," haneul suggests, though he's mostly joking. he's pretty sure they would need to get permission from the company, or at least from their managers for that sort of outing and he's not sure if they would be allowed to.

they're not too well known just yet, so maybe they could get away with it if they went with supervision? he's not sure. he files that thought away from another day though.
